I don't think we need to give as much benefit of the doubt because compared to real life crimes, I think the community for a video game should have a much higher tolerance for false positives and a lower one for false negatives. It's quite the opposite. Say you perm ban him and fire him by terminating his contract, he is perfectly able to sue Riot for wrongful termination. Riot can duke it out in court and Riot might win, but seriously, it's so not worth the effort.

I did play starcraft classic a bit when i was 14 with a 56k modem :D, but not much on bnet because it was so expensive (internet was paid hourly). If i get really good and there is the opportunity, i might do it professionally. I will start streamign more now that i am diamond and plan to do commentary. I already streamed it quite often. I have mained every role at some point (mainly to have played everything a bit to learn) but the last 5-6 weeks i have played only top if it was possible (and if i didnt get top i just filled w/e was needed). i Played Renekton, Singed, Rumble, Elise and sometimes Shen. I pretty much didnt play any other heros than those, because I think its very important to focus on as few as possible to get really good with them. The hero i played the most was Renekton, because i usually picked him if I didnt know what i was going against. I also didnt start learning Elise until ~2 weeks ago. Now i try to play Elise if I dont know what im up against. I find it a bit risky to blindly pick Singed, but I he is my favorite hero to play if the matchup isnt too bad =) Good guy DarKFoRcE filling in. That's awesome! Would love to see you stream (not that I can watch it), but the more high level commentary available the better. When I was able to watch streams I don't remember too many players who did solid commentary on their games except for maybe TheOddOne.

Speculating as to what legal action could or couldn't be taken to the termination of a contract you have absolutely no specific knowledge of is silly. Also, DoS is an illegal activity, and pretty much every (business)contract ever is immediately void upon criminal action.

First, having steroids in your system is not illegal, possessing them physically is. Second, I should've been better with my wording, but the contract could be voided, not always is voided. Obviously if the business thinks it's better to keep the person employed even given their crime, they will. I think this is probably the road Riot is taking anyway, what with their slap on the wrist 'warning.' They are playing a balancing act between making the LCS look professional and making it look competitive; banning/terminating a decent portion of your competitors and their management certainly hinders the competitive part, but if their behavior gets too bad it affects the professional part. IMO DDoS'ing other players breaks that line, but apparently Riot does not share my opinion.

Hexo is hereby given a first and final warning regarding the issuance of threats of DoS attacks or the actual launching of DoS attacks. Any future such actions, or any confirmed past or future DoS attacks will result in a permanent account ban and corresponding competition penalties, as deemed appropriate by LCS. (Emphasis mine.) I took that to mean that if they confirm this they will take action, but for now they've simply issued a warning that even joking about it is a no go. But I could see how it could be read as "we'll let this instance slide," and hope that's not what they meant.

Pretty sure they would have issued a ban if they had proof it was genuine DDoS (wich is pretty hard to get if the attack didn't go through LoL).

Playing on someone else's account and ruining games of players who are worse than you is the same as smurfing, which is (and should be) completely acceptable. Which means that if you aren't per chance getting money for doing it, it's fine. If you are, however, then Riot will make a huge deal out of it and ban you. I can somewhat understand this, as getting an account to level 30 is a hassle, which prevents some people from doing it, but I would say that ruining the game for sub-30 players is much worse than the rating of players who are already in this game for good (there is no escape). More importantly, duo-queuing with someone and getting paid for it is not okay, but if I don't get any money and do it with my "friends", it's suddenly acceptable? The people suffer the same, again. Maybe I just happen to have a "lot" of low-level friends that want to play with me, how is Riot going to know if I'm making money from it or not? I guess the point of this post is (and I realize many people already know this, but I've already written too much for me to delete this) that this was pretty much only for show and to prevent people who think about it from taking the next step and doing it. I also think it's pretty funny how serious people on Reddit are taking this, with everyone apologizing and swearing that such unacceptable behavior will never happen again. The more I think about it, though, it's more sad than funny.
