Could always combine with Giant's belt, though that would be kind of awkward. There are also plenty of new items that it could be built with, don't only think in terms of current items. For example, they mentioned that FoN's removal was partially to include other MR/MS items (I could find the quote if you'd like), so it could potentially be like Lichbane but with less AP and more MR.

I was seeing purple numbers popping off a turret and it was just me and tibbers and some friendly minions.
Maybe magic damage from minions?
I'm almost certain Tibbers' aura does not affect structures.

I read the Tibbers comment, then this one and read it as "Let's not talk about this Annie thing anymore."
I was thinking "What?? Why aren't we allowed to talk about Tibbers damaging structures..."

If you're a mana based tank, there's always the possibility of getting a Sheen and upgrading it to the Tank version of Sheen.
That item may indeed be crazy. My Skarner and Hec builds are already basically Sheen/TF + Tank, and now maybe they can skip out on the other parts if I need to be more tanky. Not that Zeal and Phage are bad on them, but depending on the stats on it, it may be a strong contender for pony to have when he just dives the entire enemy team. I can imagine Cho liking it as he's tied with Skarner for highest base AD, but his abilities don't really spam. Amumu maybe since Tantrum is on a tiny CD if you get hit and he'd like the mana.
It seems really logical that they'd make a lot of different Sheen upgrades at the same time they add technology to not have to state "Does not stack with Sheen, Lich Bane, Trinity Force, or Tank-Hand-Glow" on every single one of them.

The turret wasn't hitting me and I hadn't even put a point in E yet
They are adding named unique passives, so they can easily give the sheen unique passive a name and not have to worry about it.
Yeah that was my point, they'll be able to just say "UNIQUE PASSIVE (name):" instead of what they do right now, so it's less painful for them to add more Sheen variants

Minions do physical damage and purple numbers coming off a turret isn't something you normally see which is why I noticed it (the only other examples I can think of off the top of my head are ziggs and rammus)
Also I'm almost certain there weren't any enemy minions nearby
Come to think of it, it might have been the tibbers autoattack

Oh xin, how you can enter in a normals with friends and in under 5 minutes you shit on the entire enemy team. Fun times! His ult knockback allows for some really good ganks if you can time and place it well!
Well it's not like I'm a new player. But I've seen Xin build just about every non-AP item and somehow make it work. He's also one of the only top laners that could actually go toe-to-toe with pre-nerf Rengar top lane. Baffles my mind.
I guess my point is - CDR xin vs full tank xin vs more damage focused - the merits for each? (Can talk about jungle vs top differences too, due to disparity in farm.)

Hmm, I don't really pay attention to the nitty gritty details, but I thought that caster minons did magic damage.

They definitely do physical damage, otherwise amumu wouldn't be able to tank a minion wave for literally forever and take 0 damage.

Ok fair enough, I just assumed little lightning bolts woudl be, yknow, magic.

yeah when I first started I thought stuff like annie's mini-fireball, ryze's hand lightning, and soraka's bananas all were magic attacks
