It's painful listening to TSM argue with each other on their streams. Just terrible.

Wow I just found out flash has an elo of 2400, which is like, yeah, it doesn't translate and of course he would be high, 2400 is high in any system but we don't know how much...

but he got 2400 in pro matches? The only reason lol gets that high is slow inflation from the massive grinding of pub games slowly pushing ratings up. To have somebody reach a rating of 2400 in a population as small as the number of starcraft progamers is mindblowing.

Vayne. AD Carry with lots of mobility with Tumble, and ult gives tactical stealth disengage. That, and one of the best skins in the game (MonHun Vayne!) is going on sale!

So I wanted to bring back a topic today in light of this weeks Megamillions jackpot. For those of you who aren't American (or Americans who haven't seen this news) Megamillions is a multi-state progressive lottery. That means that if there is no winner the next jackpot gets larger each time until someone wins. The jackpot for tomorrow's drawing is $540 million. Naturally, there has been a lot of conversation about this jackpot, and it reminded me so strongly of the LoL subforum.

One camp says that, even with this jackpot, your expected value of a ticket is still a loss. (Here is a great article about the math). The other camp says that yeah, but you might as well buy one ticket, right? It's $540 million! If you buy one ticket your chances of winning are infinitely greater than if you buy no tickets. And then it hit me...

It's crit chance runes.

The logic is exactly the same. You're "unlocking the mechanic" of winning $540 million through Megamillions. So, all you crit chance rune proponents need to get your tickets before tomorrow night.

That link is pretty cool.

The single crit rune was T_D's idea. I don't think it's that big of a deal, even though on principal I don't like the idea of one blue and 8 mr blues. Still T_D always has these crazy ideas like towerbuster AD carry.

I actually had a game where my top lane was against a full 20% crit page GP that started brawler gloves. Udyr then bitched after giving FB before minions spawn because of "3 crits in a row." Now obviously it's his fault for not looking at gp's starting stats and guessing what he's running (and also giving the next 3 kills and ending the game 0/7/2), but it's absurd how much crit does even though you lose all the other stats for only a "chance". I'm actually buying a new rune page and going to fill it with crit just because I can (and if it doesn't work I can just build that 40+ mr page I wanted). Most rune pages are jack of all trades anyways, having 20% crit would rape any 15 ad 13 armor 13 mr page someone is running. Considering how much you're rolling the dice with solo queue anyways, I don't see a reason why one extra roll would hurt you at all.

Fun Fact: As long as you're building Infinity Edge Crit Marks/Quints are actually the second best late game runes, the best being AD per Level. The biggest problem I've had experimenting with Crit runes is when you get unwanted crits while last hitting under the tower.

I think he's just comparing how difficult to get 2400 Elo in LoL to Flash getting 2400 Elo in competitive Brood War (i.e. based on pro-BW Elo) considering that the level of skill in professional BW is much higher than Solo Queue LoL.

lol, no he has only time for SC

ELO is a rating system that can be used in any competitive game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system). He is 2400 in SCBW pro games.

Also its not ELO. ELO = Electric Light Orchestra, a '70s british prog rock group. The Elo system isn't an acronym or anything, its named after its maker, some hungarian guy named Mister Elo.

I actually know that, people always end up capsing it anyway. Makes it easier to read so whatever.

The two elos are largely not comparable. Koreans don't even recognize the elo system, it is TL's own measurement system. And oddly enough, TL's elo system begins at 2000, not 1200. A population as small as BW's would not produce a 2400 from a normal elo system.
There is but one truth.

Oh my god that makes so much more sense.

I couldn't even comprehend how you would get 2400 from such a small population starting with 1200 or 1600 which is where I've seen other elo systems start. My mind had just blown out of the top my skull, I could not understand it.

Buy MF. She can top, she can ad, and has great mobility, and takes a lot of skills to dominate every lane she is in. And scales really hard late game compared to other carries.

Whilst the topic of BW progamers is at hand, even though I'm a fan of SC2 I'd love to see a lot of the BW legends play some LoL. It doesn't make any sense that they would other than that Korea is getting hooked on LoL, but having a lineup of Flash, Bisu, Stork, Fantasy, Jaedong as a competitive LoL team would make me weep.
Hey! How you doin'?
