I just watched Rainmans stream for the first time last night and I think it's been then only time where a stream has been completely unwatchable. Had to turn it off after a couple minutes. It was just him screaming non-stop. Who watches that shit wtf? Oddone and doublelift are the best stream imo. They don't rage too much, admit to messing up at times, and actually say helpful things.

I'm not against the idea of a highlighted streamer, but Riot absolutely should not be doing it.
I mean seriously - first a spotlight to draw people's attention, then ANOTHER announcement saying "He's streaming now come look!"?? I have nothing against Shushei - I think he's a good player and has a very helpful stream - but Riot should not be handing him money like that. Can you imagine if Blizzard picks a SC2 streamer and publishes it on their website, or if the NBA hands a check to what they decide to be a "helpful" player?
Saying other streamers will be featured does not help. The first featured streamer will generate much more buzz and attention than subsequent ones.
Riot has always been micromanaging everything related to their game, but they seriously need to stop picking favorites like this. It's extremely biased and subjective (why were Salce and TreeEskimo not picked? they are very manner and have helpful streams). If Riot wants to promote good behavior on streams, this is not the way to do it.

Streams aren't really fun for me unless it's a scrimmage. If they're just facing randoms on the ladder, they always stomp them so hard it's not funny or enjoyable.

Yeah, I tuned into HSGG's stream for a little and he was ranting about it (surprise!) but I have to agree.
As far as streams go I pretty much watch Snoopeh or Loci. Both are articulate, comment on their play, and have minimal rage/ bad attitude.
@Loci please keep streaming, if I ever see yours go live I stop what I'm doing and switch. Favorite streamer by far. Oscar Peterson in the background is a plus :D

Right now sushei has 19000 viewers, and he has been streaming for 8 hours. Riot just paid him $2k+.

I do wish he was less of a mini Regi with all the bro bro bro stuff. I'm actually ok with Regi being like that since he's that kind of person but I think Oddone would be more interesting if the TSM personality didn't rub off on him so much.
also when Reginald is in tryhard teaching mode he's actually really helpful. he's not afraid to call out his own mistakes and doesn't rage at his team beyond just pointing out if they made a bad play.

Well.. and I disagree.. there you have it. Now who is right about what RIOT should and what RIOT shouldn't do? :-P And I have to say your last sentence is completely false. In my opinion if RIOT wants to promote good behavior it's exactly the way to do it.
They had their reasons to make Shushei first one in those spotlights. For example I could easily see TreeEskimo in those spotlights but he is completely different kind of streamer. (BTW I haven't seen him stream for a long time now.)
On another note.. How long has he been streaming now? It's 5PM here in Poland and it looks to me like he is streaming for at least 20h. He was streaming around 10PM yesterday. Still streaming at 1AM. Then I woke up around 7AM and he is still streaming... Whole time I'm at work he is streaming.. WOW. Run for your $ boy :D

He's different from all of the other streamers in that he isn't completely full of himself and pretty much always admits when he has done wrong.

I don't mean it's not effective; I mean it's not really appropriate. Riot is the creator of the game and should be as impartial as possible to individual players, because otherwise it's unequal treatment for its player base. If you don't agree with this then...well, we just have different perspectives.
I listed Salce and Tree as two players that not many people talk about as streamers, but meet the criteria just as well as Shusei (and I think Salce has about the same average viewers). Why was Shusei selected and not one of the countless skilled, mannered, and well known players?

tbh, I'm not exactly sure. I've had the XSplit Installer exe downloaded for over a month now, but haven't tried to set it up. I can't even watch a stream of a scrim and play a game at the same time, so my motivation to try to set up a stream is pretty low, haha.

OddOne has always been a rager, even before he started streaming. He'd yell a lot over vent during beta games. Regi's personality has definitely rubbed off on OddOne and I can't exactly say that it's for the better, haha.
He is definitely upfront about his mistakes though. But at the same time, he can be really critical about his teammates as well. Solo q is real srs bsns.
