My final AP is around 500 so my R is doing TONS OF DAMAGE. I just read that Blitz guide on Mobafire. While I can understand why people might go AP Blitz, I just don't think it's optimal. And even for AP Blitz, I just can't get myself to like that build. You spend ~2k gold before getting your Sheen which means you have this large lull in power before you're really a threat. If a dragon fight breaks out, you have to rely on your base stats and you're not Lee Sin or Jarman IV who have great base damages with few items. It also takes a while for you to charge up Tear because Blitz isn't as spammy as other Tear champs like Karthus/Yorick who can use a spell every second or so. There's also no survivability until your Glacial Shroud (nearly 6k gold into your build) and your only HP item is a Banshee's Veil at the very end, which is dangerous on a melee champion with no dash/blink. That means you can get kited and then exploded pretty darn fast. Your passive should never be counted for survivability. Going AP also means you have a lot of up front burst but once your Q and R are used up there's not much else. Q is also an unreliable source of damage let alone the pull itself and going AP wastes the massive AS boost you get from W. Granted, Lichbane means you do a lot of damage. But by that point, you're 11.6(!)k gold into your build. With 11.6k Gold, I think any champions could pull off a Lichbane build and do decent damage. Additionally, what can AP Blitz do better than another AP Carry with 11.6k gold? If you want someone who can trololol into the enemy team and kill stuff, Karthus kinda does the same thing. A farmed Karthus should just melt everyone. If it's the pull you want, then that's a very gimmicky start you run which sacrifices a lot of "explode them really fast" damage for a pull. Sure, Blitz can blow someone up with his spells, but then so can Brand/Annie/etc. and they can pull out another big spell rotation much faster and don't have to get into someone's face to do it. If AP Blitzcrank works for you, then more power to you. I won't stop you from playing AP Blitz. But at the same time, it's not something I could encourage nor recommend. Re Chalice on Corki: One problem with Corki is not that he needs massive amount of mana regen, it's that he burns through that mana really fast, especially if he's already been using spells to quickly push a lane. What you buy when you get Tears/Manamune isn't just the regen, but also a large buffer of mana that means you can keep going like the Energizer Bunny. While I haven't tried Chalice before, what I can say from experience is that I do like having a large buffer of mana for when I suddenly need to unload absolutely everything all at once. At level 16, Corki only has 835 mana base. Using a Phosphorus Bomb +3 Rockets + Gattling Gun is already about half of that mana pool gone instantly in a fight. If you've been pushing a lane hard with spells, it's not inconceivable you'd run out of mana for a sudden Valkyrie. Sure, you may regen it soon, but it's more about the mana you have right here and now than anything else. | ||
