With Team Solomid the american Alex 'Xpecial' Chu is attending at the IEM Global Challenge in Cologne. About his career, his private life and League of Legends Dominion he is talking with fragster.de
-> To the interview (Be aware of gamescom GC spoilers)
Some impressions:
So what did you do before you started progaming?
Xpecial: I actually go to School I'm studing Physics right now. It's not easy I can tell you.
Do you have any big goals in the future?
Xpecial: We plan to do pretty well in this touament. But after that, Riot just announced a 5 million Dollar price pool for season two and we'll defenetly will put sway in that. And we hope to get a big push into that lane.

What do you think about the new League of Legends Map Dominion?
Xpecial: Dominion now. We played it twice this day, and it was fun. It was very agressive; people start fighting at the second minute, when people start getting to the capture points, that's really a lot of fun. I think we will enjoy it.
What's your favorite game at gamescom?
Xpecial: Obviously League of Legends!

interesting stuff Xspecial is not talked about but hes really one of the key things that separates TSM from an average solo queue star team

Agreed. He really understands the support position in and out. He really shows that a good support can be a huge factor in the outcome of the game. Not only that, but he's also extremely smart about all aspects of the game. He knows pretty much every jungle route, makes good decisions, and is just an overall excellent player.

Ive always wanted to ask him why hes exclusively a support player.
Chu used to be one of the, if not the best solo mid ganker/carry player in HoN.
Im guessing its because LoL is much more of a passive game that doesnt reward offense as highly as HoN does, but still.... I think hed beast anyone if he solo mid an ap mage. or a ganking jungler.

sure you're not getting him mixed him with chu8?

Simply because you need someone to play support in a team?

Uh yeah you guys are confusing Xpecial with Chu8 hahaha.
Different people.
And for the record Xpecial didn't always play support he just picked it up because TSM needed one.

Yeah not to be elitist 'cause I suppose everyone has to learn about the game and its pros somehow, but....a lot of you are new to this subforum aren't you? Like....within the past few days when we became visible? If so, welcome. If not......welcome. :D

I remember watching jiji's stream a few weeks ago and he had won his lane 3-4 games in a row until he played Anivia vs Xpecial's Kennen top and just got absolutely demolished.
|
Xpecial on a solo has got to be the most inconsistent of all the top players. One game he'll do awesome the next he'll do terrible.

I remember reading somewhere on TSM's website, where xspecial stated that he was offered a spot for TSM, but didn't know back then that it was a support spot they had open for him. He said yes, and now im writing this :o

Here's the blog where he talks about playing support and how he was tricked into it (although there was no explanation).

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Xpecial is not the Chu you guys are thinking of.
Chu is back in HoN, and has been streaming HoN under an EHH/DWi Alias

It was Kennen vs Anivia solotop, dunno what Jiji could have done. But like Chrispy said, I've been super carried by Xpecial before, and other games he made me want to afk. I'd still like to see him get to play a carry for TSM sometimes.

Insert customary bashing about Elementz attitude.

that's what i said shake, anivia vs kennen top

Kennen should rape Anivia in lane, no matter who you are. Anivia has no answer for constant AA/Q harass with her inconsistent Q/E combo. It's just a downplay on Xpecial's skills.
