Anyway, i don't see this lasting, dota2 will end it. well i also agree with you, though i wouldn't like dota 2 being an esport. the type of game is so boring to watch, i usually fall asleep if i watch more than one game, despite having fun playing it for a long time. it just doesn't amaze me at all, kills go fast and often there is just farming for a long time. it's like CS for me, i don't like watching it too much, though it's not that bad cause here is more action. Anyway, still good luck for MLG trying out LoL, pretty sure it will be a success.

It doesn't bother me it being at MLG, I just hope we don't see yet another catastrophic failure ruining the reputation of esports. Feels like riot would be better off directing those funds to get more customers playing their game, because thats where the real strength of LoL is, its very fun and addicting to play. It's not that fun to watch yet it usually has the same amount of concurrent viewers as SC2 daily? Hotshotgg gets as many viewers as a Day9 daily and he streams for hours. "catastrophic failure" because people are watching another game on a stream and it will ruin the reputation of esports? /facepalm

Riot was bought a while back by a chinese company, they are the ones putting money into making LOL the next big thing in esports.

I do wonder what the fate of LoL is competitively after DOTA 2, but perhaps LoL being different enough and having enough of a head start to get it's own following (I mean there are an entire generation of players now who know Heroes only as Champions, for example) that they can coexist...but I doubt it, or at least never at the same event.

About Dota2: we'll see how Dota2 is in a week. Will be interesting to see what impact that showing has. Also, why do some people consider LoL a bad spectator sport? If you don't like to watch it, then don't watch it. Personally, I don't like Baseball or Counterstrike, but I don't go running around shouting they are bad spectator sports, just because I don't like them. If nobody wanted to watch LoL, it wouldn't be at MLG in the first place.

I've tried watching it, but I just dont enjoy it. People don't need to play baseball, counterstrike or sc2 to enjoy watching it.
