Free Ashe is certain.
Pretty sure it's 2 weeks. Lux is free this week, and she was released 2 weeks ago. Also, each champ is free the week the next one comes out (e.g. LeBlanc came out this week and Lux was also free this week).

Used to be same week, but as Riot became greedy it first became 1 week after release, and now 2 weeks after release.

Hoping for a Kassadin/Kennen free-week at some point. Really want to learn both champs, but I'd like to spend enough time with them to know that I'm not unsalvageably bad at them (like I am with Rammus) before I buy them.

Anyone know if Ashe's volley procs either Rylai's or frozen mallet? I'm thinking of a troll-tastic tank ashe build with frozen heart, whichever slow item procs off volley, something else with CDR (blue elixir, even) and other tank items. ECA to initiate, then run in and volley every 2.4 seconds to keep the entire enemy team slowed and annoyed.

Certainly not mallet (it's an on-hit effect and Volley doesn't trigger those), but Rylais should work (as it is a spell, but it might be flagged incorrectly like Cho's Vorpal Spikes were).
But then you spend 3k gold on nothing but 500 HP and 15% slow. You already need 4k gold to reach 40% CDR with GB/B...

Where should we put the warding guide/picture? Everyone should see it and remember it, but I don't know if putting it in the "READ FIRST/Newbie FAQ" thread will garner as much attention to it as it should. I guess keep it on file until someone eventually gets bored and writes a general gameplay guide?

IMO rename the champ guide general thread to guides thread, so that we can easily fit in 5HIT's jungle guide and other possible non-champ specific guides.
On a completely unrelated note, heko builds gunblade instead of dfg after sheen on poppy. Thoughts?

Heko also ults the Twitch he is nuking instead of the Janna that is even closer to him and that obviously is not going to kill him.
Though the game was 100% over when he did that.
Gunblade has amazing stats and afaik Poppy applies the AD and AP with nice ratios. The lack of CDR probably hurts, but the life leech and spell vamp on Gunblade should at least be more relevant than the MP5 on DFG. Against squishy targets the active nuke of Gunblade might deal similar damage, and the slow should still help.

Unless he's gotten significantly better in the past few months, heko is notorious for doing bat-shit stupid things and sticking to them like a stubborn mule. For instance, for a month (no kidding) he ran Smite GP and did a 1.5 lane jungling strat where he'd wander between mid and bot alternating creep denies while Smiting and jungling.
... would you do that? Would you even recommend that to anyone? Does it make sense? Why did he do it? What in god's name was he thinking???

It looked retarded to me aswell, and they did get owned quite badly that game. I was wondering if he had picked it for the slow or something, also I have no idea how much a dfg costs since it's not on any of my champions' builds so...

He thinks outside the box but it's very tough recommending to anyone to do what he tries. lol. Most of time you want to bash your head against a very solid object and forget what happened.

Yeah, I could tell that. He had some very good/lucky stuns around the purple wraiths area, hit like 4 in a row in a teamfight, got a triple kill but what surprised me the most is that nobody got knocked over any wall. Quite impressive.
