Yeh I think there is still room to revolutionaze on the current MOBA formula. Thats something Blizzard was best at in the past, building upon other game companies' ideas. For that reason I believe this thing with attrocious name will have a decent impact and will bring something new to the table that will make a lot of other game designers wonder why they didnt think of that. Either they do that or this will be doomed from the start. We dont really want a more polished LoL or DotA. | ||

Speaking of names, it reminds me of Eve of the Apocalypse (EotA - does this abbreviation remind you of something >.>?) which is another awesome WC3 mod (it isn't the same thing as DotA but it's more of a mix of traditional WarCraft 3 and DotA). Icefrog deserves 95% of the credit for DotA, though, and here's why: Dota before Icefrog made it (i.e. pre-Allstars) was a mess. It was fun as hell, but it was super imbalanced, buggy, and, in some instances, flat-out ridiculous (some of those heroes...). Icefrog took it and made it into a phenomenon. Eul deserves credit for the original idea, Guinsoo for making it more streamlined, and Icefrog for taking it from "decent niche custom map" to multi-million dollar enterprise. | ||
