As the title said, I dont have any of the naxx cards past the first wing. Can i still perform well and do I have any chance at still hitting the high ranks?

Depends on the deck you plan on playing. You can get to legend with Hunter very easily without too many good cards.

Since there is no mechanism in the game that would allow you to get missing cards ever, short term or long term, you should probably quit now.

Nope. Much of the new cards are crazy OP at the moment and they are defining the current metagame. Just do the daily quests (trying to get the highest paying ones) at low ranks and call it a day (~10days to get 700g). It's what I'm doing and I have just over a wing to go. Or you could always just pay for the wings but that's kind of besides the point of F2P.

Also consider that you unlock some class cards earlier than others and some neutral cards are more beneficial to some classes than others:
- The best class cards are arguably Webspinner (Hunter) and Death's Bite (Warrior), which are unlocked in the second and fourth wings, respectively. It will only take you 700g (and four PVE wins) to unlock Webspinner, but it'll cost you 2100g to get Death's Bite.
- The second wing also nets you Unstable Ghoul (great for Warrior to combo with Enrage minions, Acolyte of Pain, Armorsmith, Frothing Berserker), Sludge Belcher, and Loatheb, the latter two being almost mandatory in the 5-slot.

So, my suggestion would be to save for the second wing as a priority if you plan to play constructed. Depending on what class you favor, you may wish to spring for subsequent wings sooner rather than later.

Note: I have paid gold-only for the second and third wings and have enough to unlock the fourth, although I don't want to eat into my Arena fee buffer.

there are still enough decks out there that don't need Naxx cards.
You can play midrange hunter without traps/bow and don't need Mad Scientist, Webspinner or the Haunted Creeper.
You can play an aggro version of Zoolock without any Naxx cards (Kleinmuuhg ended the last season on rank 69 legend with that kind of deck. No Naxx cards)
You can play the original Zoolock
You can play ramp druid as if nothing had changed
You can play control Priest as it was before Naxx came out...

There is a lot of stuff to play that still works fine. Maybe some things work better now with Naxx cards, and some decks just don't fare well against the current meta-game (aka what classes/types of decks you mostly encounter atm). You can totally hit the high ranks though without any Naxx cards as long as you pick the right strategy and have some luck on your side.

As other's have mentioned, the second wing is probably the best value per gold in the entire game. After that, the wings have pretty much one good card each, and you could argue either way on wings vs packs.

But to answer your question:

Can you perform well? Yes, of course. I made an EU account a couple weeks ago when I realized how absurdly easy it is to make a top-tier Hunter deck, and did just that. With a few hundred dust and 700 gold for the second wing of Naxx, you can make legend rank with Hunter. Other classes will be much harder. This is because many of the basic (free) Hunter cards are top-tier, whereas you will generally need several epics/legendaries to make another top-tier deck.

My problem with Naxx is that i only need 2 cards (i dont play huntard, fuck them) Sludge Belcher and Loatheb, and i wont save and drop thousands of golds to get 2 cards.

But then again they (+webspinner) are ruining low level constructed for sure

From the perspective of a very stingy and unfrequent player, yes you can, but don't expect to be playing control. I got into Hearthstone superlate (way after beta), never spent any money on it, and went for 2-3 weeks without playing every once in a while. Most notably, I stopped playing right when Naxx came in because yay, summer! I still easily complete most of my quests by playing hunter or zoo in constructed, plus my own ramp druid because I was lucky enough to get Cairne and Cenarius from packs. Every other quest, I complete in arena: it became ridiculously more lucrative for me after I got better, I went from 3 wins on average to 5.8 which is just below being able to go infinite, but with quests allows me to get more and more packs to slowly expand my collection and periodically open Naxx wings (only one wing remaining!). I play around 1 hour per day on average, 3 or 4 times per week. In this season, i started in rank 25 (inactivity), got to rank 13 in a week, and saved enough to add webspinners to my hunter deck. Yes, the meta might be toxic, but that is actually fun to play for me

Oops, small mistake: I shifted some thnigs around, so I forgot what had to leave the deck to make room for webspinners: no tracking, -1 scavenger, +2 kill commands (duh!).

It's not p2win. Did Tides won WEC money with pay 2 win strategy? He did not.
Money just get you cards faster. And when you get them you still win or loose with them :D
I'm kinda in the same boat as you as I stopped playing before Naxx after months of getting the basic legends to play with.
But for me is more of "the game is not that fun to play" not "I have no Naxx cards than screw it".

It's pay for convenience (skip grinding gold, but after grind is complete you have equal decks). Not pay to win

There are still a good amount of decks which can be played without naxx cards. And after all, pro can even get to legend with free decks, so it's not that you actually NEED certain cards to play and reach high levels. Surely there are decent alternatives you can swap in, like most people do when they play a deck but don't still have all the "optimal" cards. You can still get to legend with a 50+% win rate, you would just get there FASTER with and higher rate.

That said, of course try in the long run to get at least the cards you actually need to play the deck(s) you want to play, to be able to have optimal lists.

You can still get into Naxx, it isn't going anywhere. Just keep playing, have fun, and buy into a Naxx wing once in a while.

You may not be able to make certain popular decks, but you still win without Naxx cards. Plus the arena will let you play with all Naxx cards, regardless of what wings you have bought.
