Hello liquifriends. As many of you know from this thread, I am a contestant in the Miss America Program this year. I currently hold the title of Miss Tri-Valley, and in one week will be competing for the title of Miss Oregon! I'm really excited, and have been preparing like crazy! I really believe in this organization, because it is based so completely on community service and bettering education. For example, instead of an entry fee, each contestant is required to raise a certain amount of money in donation to the Children's Miracle Network. At the local level, it is $100, for state, it is $350, and if I make it all the way to Miss America, it will be $500. So far, I have had trouble raising the money by talking to family and friends. That's where you guys come in. Now, here's the motivation. IF I raise $500 dollars before I leave for Miss Oregon on the 5th, I will post swimsuit pictures from the competition here on TLnet. iNc thinks that is good motivation...I'm just hoping you guys will do it out of the goodness of your hearts, because I can't compete unless I raise this money. 
Otherwise, I'm also going to try to video blog from the event, so if I end up having the time, you guys can follow me that way through the competition! I'll let you know where to look. Thanks for all the good wishes and support so far!

I find it a bit sad that You didn't try to "make" us donate money because of the cause, help to those children who obviously need help and such. You didn't even bother mentioning at least few things about that entire charity or anything else connected with those kids and organization, instead with ease you said this:

She actually mentions that she thought it would be nice if people did it out of the kindness of their hearts but I mentioned that it might be nice motivation to offer a website full of men nice pictures of a pretty girl who is a part of the community.
In the end both are raising money for charity.. the why is less important in my book.

Please take the time to check out the links provided in my post. My previous threads describe my commitment to and understanding of the Miss America Organization as one of the best non-profits in the nation. The Children's Miracle Network site contains more and better information about the cause than any explanation of mine. Props to you for caring more about helping others than the reward you will get for it. However, please don't misunderstand a jovial fundraising game for a reversal of focus.

Oh, sorry, it seems I didn't know for other thread nor I did read entire topic closely and after re-reading comments and such I guess I misunderstood entire "fun/game" part and overacted a bit. But, anyhow, I still wish best of luck both in Miss contest and raising money for children. I would seriously donate if I could (only for US residents), as I like your charity a lot, and I admire your enthusiasm. Besides, I think raising money from all over the world and not the US only would be well regarded for the contests.

No, it is not. Or at least, this is not at all what Unc explained in her previous thread. Apparently, personnality and personnal accomplishments have a huge importance in this particular contest. I have to admit this surprised me a lot, but Unc has won one of these contests already, so she has first-hand knowledge on the matter.

The pictures are cool but I donated because I liked the sound of the after-school program you were developing. I think it was related to having kids come to a center to play some games and stuff. Anyway, I hope you win it all!
