Fuck that, let the kids fight it out. Waiting to calling the police is stupid. Taking those punches while waiting for the police will set a precedent where any kid knows they have a window of opportunity to just beat the crap of someone before the police arrives. Allowing that to happen is idiotic.

The punishment should be a slap on the wrist by the law. The school should take whatever measure necessary for teaching's sake.

i was coming back to korea and at the airport they had about ~70 vietnamese people that were obviously being imported as slave labor to work in the factories up north near the dmz... the viets were being screamed at and hit by customs agents

koreans backed by the police import south east asian girls on the premise of being dancers to work in brothels for sleezy salaryman

sometimes i'll try to go to some places and they'll tell me "korean only", so ill be like what why, and they'll say oh one time a white guy came here and had a fight or something retarded

Practically, we as a society dole out punishments based on results and intent. The white lad is getting the standard sentence for punching, and the korean is getting the standard sentence for breaking a kids nose.

The teasing and bullying also has results. I think there should be a little extra in there for mocking and making fun of the korean lad. Nevertheless, we don't expell every student who makes fun of another student, we'd lose every boy in middle school otherwise.

And for those of you who think otherwise, a little clarification about fighting back. You're allowed to fight back ONLY IF there is no other option. This means, you couldn't get out of the situation in some other way. I don't know the particulars of this fight, but I doubt the Korean boy was in a situation where he could not have ran to an administrator and reported the issue.

The white kid is a little bastard and I'm glad his nose is broken, but it shouldn't be broken.

If you've got a black belt in some form of martial art and are involved in a fight, you can be charged with assault with a deadly weapon based solely on your expertise. Can't say I know the reasoning behind the police's charges, just thought it was an interesting (and possibly relevant) tidbit.

A friend of mine from high school actually has certification saying that his body is classified as a deadly weapon, so if he were to beat someone up, he'd be in much more trouble than the average kid in a school yard scrap.

I have heard some fucked up stories about kids I went to high school with and what they've done in asian countries. I would fully understand if I went to certain areas of japan and was treated badly. Alot of members of the united states military give us all a bad name (Not a majority of our armed forces at all, please take it in the context of 'a few bad apples' rather then dissing our military, I'm not looking to start that kind of flame war)

probably would've been tae kwon do since that is the korean martial art. Anyway, he was acting in self defence which is what tae kwon do trains people to do and i doubt he intended to break his nose, though its a good thing he did. Should've punched him in the throat then gouged his eyes, ripped out his intestines and strangled him with them imo.
