You are seriously retarded if you think that Korea is the only country that indoctrinates their students. Everyone does it. The Chinese refuse to teach about Tiananmen square or even allow their people to search for it online, the United States tries to keep up the appearance of the "reluctant superpower" with only good motives behind all its military interventions, etc. It seems as though America believes that it always has the moral high ground "the Nazis were so bad, they killed millions of Jews" without considering the horrendous activities of our own soldiers. Obviously people are going to biased in favor of whatever group they feel a part of. There's racism everywhere and there's always oppression of the weak by the strong, no matter where the boundary lines are drawn.

This story probably made the news because it was one of those rare cases where the opposite of the norm occurred. But as your story said, the students demanded justice and the case was re-opened. Follow what happens, and I bet you the white kid who threw the first punch will get the worse punishment. wait, are you serious? Look around man, media so discriminates minorities. They paints Asians as the model minority and Asians Americans only get to play a few select roles on TV, Movie, or anything else for that matter. They only play the delivery man, martial artist, or asexual tech guy. They never get to kiss the girl even when they are the main character and save the girl (Romeo Must Die) and they rarely ever speak fluent English and live a normal life. In Cranked 2, you have a guy using yellow face. Asian women are continually portrayed as either a dragon lady or a shy subservient girl. 21, Dragon Ball, and now Airbender are all movies where the main character, an Asian character, is played by a white dude because the movie industry thinks people won't watch the movie if it's with an Asian dude as the lead role. For christ's sake just look at what Betty Brown, a US Senator, said recently about how Asian Americans should change their names so that it's easier for poll workers to identify them easier. The media still portrays Asian Americans as "the other". And that's just Asian Americans. Look at Cops, almost every arrest is of African Americans. From watching the news it'd seem like the only people who commit crimes are either African American or Hispanic. It's no coincidence that prisons are continually filled with an overabundance of African Americans and Hispanics. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005154/ harold and kumar series also lets be honest, jackie chan, does a lot more than just martial arts. Same with jet li, they both came from hong kong where they also had heavily martial arts roles. Sandra Oh also there are only: 4.4% or 13.1 million asians in America according to the last census. They almost have more hollywood actors than hispanic people that have a much larger population. For their population size they have good coverage in the media and movies. As far as anime adoptions i dont think that is really important, Dragon Ball Z was a shithouse film just trying to make a quick buck. Also even the japanese film sailor moon was played by a girl who was half white. At its height, daily demonstrations outside US military bases reminded those inside that South Korean xenophobia extended to those who might be called upon to risk their lives to protect the country. Foreign language teachers also experience South Korea's brand of unfair criticism from time to time. In Gyeonggi province, the local branch of the Korean Teachers and Educational Workers Union (KTEWU) released a statement squarely blaming foreign teachers for a string of sexual-abuse cases that occurred in English-language-immersion villages. The inadequate education, the lack of morals and the irresponsibility of foreign teachers all contributed to such outcomes, claimed the KTEWU - despite the fact that the alleged sexual-abuse cases involved South Korean English-language instructors. Mr. Hwang, an ethnic Korean from China, was recently beaten by his Korean coworker at a construction site on the Seoul subway, being told to “go back to China.” He said many of his compatriots have recently been beaten by Koreans at the workplace. With jobs growing fewer due to the economic downturn, hostility towards foreign workers is on the rise. With the daily wage for Chinese workers in the Sallim-dong area holding at 50,000 won for the last decade, foreign laborers are often made the target of complaints. The head of the Migrant Workers Center, however, said in a survey of business owners, 70% said they hire foreigners because they cannot hire Koreans. He said foreign laborers do the “3D” jobs avoided by Koreans and are contributing to Korean economic development by supplementing Korea’s labor force. Lets be honest though, countries like Korea and Japan will be forced to become multiracial most likely as their birth rates are very low.

This is a joke. American bases around the world are there to serve American interests only and to promote the American Empire, not for protecting the country. The soviet union fell two decades ago, there's no reason for american bases to still be operating around the world.

We are still acting as guards for taiwann so China doesn't take it over. We are still in South Korea to protect them from North Korea.

President Truman's quote Communism was acting in Korea, just as Hitler, Mussolini and the Japanese had ten, fifteen, and twenty years earlier. I felt certain that if South Korea was allowed to fall communist leaders would be emboldened to override nations closer to our own shores. If the Communists were permitted to force their way into the Republic of Korea without opposition from the free world, no small nation would have the courage to resist threat and aggression by stronger communist neighbors.

Not that I'm not thankful for the fact that South Korea is still a capitalist nation, but the domino theory has already been disproved by the Vietnam War. Even China and the Soviet Union at the time were at odds, despite the fact that they were both communist nations. How old are you? 13? Jesus Christ.

mutual relationships ![]() By this treaty, the USAF are legally responsible for the defense of Japan and in return for this, the Japanese government has offered military bases, funds and various interests as defined by the Status of Forces Agreement. In 1960, at the expiration of the treaty, the new Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security between the United States and Japan was signed between the United States and Japan. The status of the United States Forces Japan was defined in the U.S.-Japan Status of Forces Agreement. The treaty is still in effect and the Japanese foreign policy is based on these reciprocal obligations. Also the Korean government wants American troops to be stationed in South Korea. Every country acts in their own interests but lets just say that American interests are not necessarily taking over every country, raping and sending the women home for us to use, and establishing American governments in other countries.

Racism in Asia is pretty rampage, and Korea is one of the worst offenders. i thought the netherlands was prertty good at accepting everyone.

I can't tell if you are really an idiot or if you are trying to troll, but in any case: American policy has been about economic domination for a while and its foreign policy has reflected that. I don't know where you got the second thing from. And establishing American friendly governments is tried all the time. Bay of Pigs to overthrow Castro, overthrowing Saddam in Iraq, the CIA reinstalling the shah in the 50s, installing Hamid Karzai in afghanistan, etc. etc. George W. Bush always talked about "spreading freedom" by which he meant spreading liberal democracy.
