Norway
Likes - Free health care for everyone - Free education for everyone - Generally a good welfare system that takes care of everybody in our society - The nature. - Rich country with a generally high living standard - Even the poor lives indoor and have money for food, pretty much no homeless people. - Extremely safe country, very little crimes
Dislikes - An awful penal system imo, way to short sentences (like usually your out within 5 years of murdering someone, unless you have done something gruesome) and the prisoners have it way to good, having separate cells with showers, TVs etc. (This is better than a lot of our old people have it in institutions) - Everything is sick expensive because of ultra high taxes on them, like 10$ for a pack of cigarettes, 40$ and up for a bottle of vodka, almost 2$ pr liter of gasoline. - The weather can be real shitty at times
In total a great country to live in, and I don`t think I would trade it for anywhere else.

Portugal
Likes - the facility with which Extremely strong bonds are made
- public transportation in Lisbon and Porto ( especially the Subway in Lisbon it tops every other countries I and my brother have been to. total 75 countries together, 70 are his XD)
- the serenity and natural beauty outside the major cities - secluded warm water beaches - Beautiful architecture - The language is one of the most complex and beautiful - Fado - exceedingly rich culturally - that at the age of 14 you can go clubbing - that alcohol and light drugs are cheap
- their take on hip hop, it is honestly exceptional, better than every other European country( maybe with the exception of Germany, i don't understand german) and only a handful of American MCs will ever compare to the best Portuguese which coincidentally are a handful, in Portugal hip hop has existed for only 19 years and total population is 11million/
- the intensity with which emotions are portrayed and felt especially "Saudade" missing someone or Homesickness are the closest translations, but they don't come close to it's full meaning.
- how advanced they are in terms of human rights - Exceptional culinary, and the wines are exquisite. Port wine is a unique taste all should enjoy - CHEAP health care, and accessible education system ( even though it blows mostly) - if you get crap grades they FAIL your ass, none of that "no child left behind" bull.
Dislikes - Ample poverty - the abundant ignorance - Low quality of material life all around - Extreme arrogance - Xenophobia galore, even against people of different regions in this small ass country - corruption - Male chauvinism - Political positions are held with too high of an esteem - the school system ( it REALLY fails) - did i mention the school system there fails really bad? - their tendency towards violence - depression is very common - Terrible drivers - you can however not attend like 80% of the classes if you can spell your guardians name... and 25% if you can't
I'm sure I'll think of more things i dislike later ^ ^
edit: added a few

I have to ask this since it is my dream to one day live in Portugal. I have read that the cost of living etc, is slowly on the rise with the EU etc. But is it that bad all around right now? Is Lisbon an affordable place to live? Should I learn Spanish first then Portuguese, is it that complex?

United States:
Likes: 1. It is big enough that you can go many states and they are completely different..even different culture/accent. 2. (being honest here) I feel safe/good know how powerful we are economically and militarily. 3. I like the relative balance between the 2 political parties. Power flows back and forth fairly quickly and therefore 1 party cannot get too comfortable or depart too far from the general public's opinion 4. I like that the US is comparatively more conservative/religious than other places. 5. I like the rural places. 6. I like the opportunities everywhere to be whatever you want to work hard to become. 7. I love the flag, the anthem, and the patriotism.
Dislikes: 1. I dislike seeing government assistance being taken advantage of by lazy people. 2. I HATE the hyper-judicial society (SUE THE BASTARD mindset). The judicial system is the #1 problem in America imo. 3. I dislike reality tv, teen/celebrity magazines, anything having to do with trying to follow the lives of the celebrities in general (as if they mattered).

I'm not sure "Free health care" or "Free education" are the right way to phrase that...
EDIT: I'd still LOVE to visit Norway

South Korea Likes: PC Cafes, Just amazing for my own personal experience Starcraft~~ Really haven't experienced that many things yet, since the last time i've been there was when I was like, 12. Dislikes: All the fucking stereotypical Asian traits are true, because 85% of all those typical statements are based on how actual asians have been like. And the thing is, people actually promote it, as if it really isn't anything, but deep in their emotions and minds they really are being hurt, they just want it to stop, however, they don't know any good procedures to handle problems. Thats some reason why stereotypes are still reigning and brining fear into races, (LoL@White peeps) Gangs, and there are a lot of shady people during the night. I hate the pressure between South Korea and North Korea, why the fuck do we have to prove one or the other, the "better Korean"?, I just don't understand. Oh by the way, No we don't have any beautiful women, I haven't seen any pretty Korean girl, matter of fact, there are almost no cute/beautiful/sexy/etc Asian girl. They're all fucking butt ugly, or their attitude is just fucking horrific because of how their fucking parents raised them to be a stupid housewife that studied for 24 fucking hours for 7 fucking weeks.

you intend to move from the US to Portugal? you have family there? do you have guaranteed income?
the cost of living in Lisbon is pretty high, though it depends on the areas, some areas are insanely high, and Lisbon has it's ghettos soo... yeah pick and choose. Lisbon is a unique and gorgeous city.
Portugal has some rural areas, that are breathtakingly beautiful and dirt cheap, even right next to the beach
no don't learn Spanish then Portuguese, its honestly a waste of time.
being able to communicate basically in Portuguese is easy, but an American accent will get you ridiculed.
Learning the language enough to appreciate it's beauty and complexity takes at least about 8 months - a year, if your intelligent and have a facility with languages, and takes 1.5-3 years to be able to implement it in it's full glory.
edit: also sorry to start a bit of a flame war, but saying London has great architecture is laughable, also their food blows.
The rest is true though London is awesome, and the British are fun as hell, and they have that sexy accent i love so much.

Lol I would say something about Canada/Vancouver but I don't want to possibly offend people. Also, I think Vancouver (where I live) is a lot different from the majority of Canada, so I couldn't really say the likes/dislikes of Canada as a country.

I can't stand the city/place I live in and I have been wanting to go to/live in Portugal just because I think it the most amazing country in Europe. Rich history, culture, and absolute beauty. After a few years I hope, providing nothing is holding me back, I want to move there and from there see the world one country at a time.

As a government contractor dont even get me started on this....... and as someone who has used unemployment benefits in the past, I honestly think they need to make us do Community Service. It was literally like a 4 week vacation for me whilst waiting for my Security clearance to be re-sponsored.
All and all though I think the US is a great place, there are so many great opportunities here that get taken for granted of. This is truly, amidst this "economic crisis" still the land of opportunity.... plus Canada makes for a comfy hat
kekeke,
speaking of which canadafags...... are you fools up there in Vancouver doing ok? Vancouver used to be so safe! Sorry USA drug laws are so strict..... A lot of unneeded deaths
