That's right, when asked why we were supporting the US invasion of Iraq, our Prime Minister said that they were our biggest trading partner worth lots of money so obviously we would support them duh. - Smart politicians. When asked what kind of support we would be sending, our Prime Minister said that our country was too small to do anything but cheer. The government did allow US ships and aircraft to use our airspace/port, a somewhat insignificant move considering they're miles away from the action and they wouldn't pass Singapore on the way to Iraq anyway. - Super efficient. Just ask Fakesteve. - Very clean - Very safe - Lots of greenery. There are plants EVERYWHERE and it makes such a difference - Multi racial, multi cultural, but very little interracial/faith tension. - Everyone speaks English (plus at least one other language, usually) - Fabulous public housing, easily affordable and very, very nicely built - HUGE variety of food... makes it easy to eat cheap, healthy food... or cheap unhealthy food if you prefer - Generally honest people - Government generally does the right thing, even if it's unpopular - Very good schools with very good facilities - Recently declared most wired country on earth, narrowly beating South Korea! - Red light district filled with prostitutes but also with some of the best food in the country. Strangely enough, a perfectly acceptable place to bring a girl on a date or a family out to dinner. - Cheap, clean love hotels that rent out rooms by the hour. - 24 hour country! Always something to do!

- Lousy local TV. I really envy the Brits. - Rigid bureaucrats (though they are, admittedly, very efficient within their comfort zones) - No local pornography industry - People who don't seem to treat their domestic help as human beings - High pressure school system - No beggars... because begging is illegal (!) - Practically no welfare system - Changes too fast... old shops and buildings disappear really fast... we don't have many memories to build an identity round.

Likes: The places. I live in NYC, and I can't think of a better place to live. There are so many things to do in the city at all hours, and you'll never get bored

Likes: Australian people are awesome, generally really friendly . Weather - We have some of the best beaches in the world and still some (even if they are crappy ;p) ski slopes as well.

Likes: - Small and incredibly convenient. - WORLD'S BEST public transport system, takes me 30mins max to get where i want to go without having to drive - Awesome food - plethora of swear words/phrases, feels soooo good to cuss out people in cantonese - how we are close enough to japan to get their awesome arcade machines - cheapest McDonalds in the world, and we get the shogun burger which USA hasn't even heard of - cheapest cab fares in the world - surrounded by sea, so we can get fresh seafood and do watersports - safe, very low crime rates - lots of relaxing hiking paths that can bring you away from the city and return you back just as quickly - beautiful night view - gangster/kungfu movies - funky urban planning (sometimes efficient, sometimes not, but always interesting: ie having an public amphitheater/park hidden behind and in the middle of the bar/drinking district) - hilarious local slangs and idioms
Dislikes: - powerless political system, with empty puppets in the government - awfully humid and hot in the summer (holyshit even the walls sweat!) - general racist attitude (tolerated and considered acceptable) - non diverse population DESPITE what the tourism board says - horrible, horrible local TV dramas with high school level drama skills - VERY bitchy girls (might be a universal thing?) - general apathy towards social issues, and focused money making rat-race belief - shitty generic love-ballad pop music (seriously its always the same goddamn tune/theme)
