Likes: -Tap water is drinkable. -People eat a hearty breakfast here. I've been to a few countries in Europe, and they barely eat anything for breakfast (they'll have, for instance, a croissant or some other type of bread with coffee, and that's it o_O). -Generally better and friendlier service in hotels, restaurants, stores, etc than in other countries.
Dislikes: -I think it's great that our culture is so diverse, but to a large extent, American culture is a conglomeration of various distinct cultures and minorities that generally keep to themselves. Blacks will generally congregate with other blacks, Asians with Asians, and so forth. I rather despise all of these ethnic minority clubs/groups/unions. It seems to me that they are only reinforcing the racial boundaries. -Our patriotism is way over the top. Too many pig-headed morons who quite seriously believe that we are the "land of the free, home of the brave", and that we are thoroughly better than every other nation. -It's terribly annoying how the government and the majority of our citizens feel the need to make every little international affair our business. Especially given the economic crisis at hand, we are no longer in a position to be an international leader. This constant meddling in world affairs is also a big reason why much of the world hates us. -A lot of people here are way too materialistic and have a superficial mindset. Our morals have also degenerated quite considerably. I think the media is very much to blame. We have a large variety of trashy pop culture magazines and reality TV shows that teach our young women that nothing is more important than being beautiful, popular, and fashionable, as well as encourage them to be sexually loose. This can of course apply to boys as well, but I think girls are much more negatively affected by it. Personally I am all for censorship, and I think there needs to be a lot more of it. Our TV programs and movies have just an excessive amount of trash, violence, profanity, and sexually-related material that has caused a serious degeneration in our culture and moral standards. And as we know, people in our country spend way too much time watching the tube. Additionally, there has also been a decline in the quality of our popular music and literature, which is probably a factor in this as well. -People here generally have very strong opinions and you will not find many objective thinkers here. If you try to examine an opposite perspective with someone, it is likely that they will either be offended or will not wish to pursue the discussion.

The movies we produce are fairly expensive and yet, they are mostly really bad. And we produce lots of cheesy musicals. I also blame Canada for emptying their trash on us : I cannot count how many Québecois singers have had a career in France with their shitty songs.
Brazil Like: Foreigners assimilation: When foreigners comes to Brazil to stay, they assimilate with the population. We have Japanese, Italians, Germans, Lebanese, Africans, that we cant tell apart from Brazilians. They speak Portuguese fluently, they dont make gethos and there is little discrimination among different races/nationalities. Variety: As you travel around the country you can find cold weather, rain forests, beaches, waterfalls, mountains, hills, deserts. Each state has its own peculiarities. Music: Brazilian music is awesome, and has a lot of variety. Pros: -I live in Wisconsin, and the people here are generally nice and open-minded, then again we are one of the most friendliest states in the country. -Freedom, or at least a pretty good illusion of it. -Abuseable education system. We are far far behind in math and sciences from the rest of the world, and from the looks of it, AP looks easy. High schools have a massive gap to that of higher level education, and as long as I pull my weight now, I should have no problems getting into a top tier system. Also a lovely financial aid system that comes with it most of the time. -We're spoiled, we pretty much have everything a modern society should have.
Cons: -Since we live in a society with so much freedom, there is a dirge and an excess of options, and having too much choice in life actually makes us depressed as shit according to my psych teacher. It in turn, makes us shallow and superficial as a materialistic culture and often misplaced values. "Less is more." -Huge huge gaps in social classes and racial diversity. Brings about unfair racial discrimination on occasion. -High divorce rates. My parents are getting divorced -Typical American ignorance. Although I have not experienced personally, it is believable to me how retarded we can be with global politics and self-righteous behavior. Although we are not a collective society with a singular culture and instead an orgy and cesspool of mixed shit, we all too often are self-destructive and abusive to our ideals.
