that was fucking awesome, very artistic

Simply awesome to watch that fall into place. I wonder how many people it took to set that up and how long it took them.

i wouldn't be able to imagine the suspense of the builders when they're watching "i hope this doesn't epic fail" :O

holy batshit insane shit hahaha om g-____-

hahha holy shit that was cool.

that was really sweet. i hope they made some money from that through their efforts or something because that would have taken ages to set up....
|
I hope they didn't do that by hand :O
|
so thats why they were all in suspense? i mean they looked happy in the end. i thought they were experts or something who could make a domino track easily. is this a competition?

How the fuck do you make a 4.5 piece domino track easily, its the longest one in the world so obv. it wasn't easy making it and it most likely took them months to do that. Not being excited at that moment is just retarded.
Its awesome :p

This makes no sense.

Is it just me or are those videos really poorly edited? I'm sure took hours for the whole thing, but they could at least show individual sections to completion rather than a bunch of disjoint 2 second clips.
|
it took around 2 hours. Perhaps there is torrent as it was aired netherland tv.

Quite impressive, but a little ridiculous as well. The amount of time you would have to put into that for the pay off just doesnt seem worth it.

i agree it was very disjointed

Heh, I'd be surprised if there were no mistakes at all during the setup with that large amount of pieces. Of course they leave gaps and stuff as safety measures. Just got to have steady hands when finishing it
According to wikipedia about 150k pieces didn't actually fall (and even that's huge when you don't think about the big picture...), but the previous record was still broken clearly.

Wait, the whole thing took two hours to fall? Damn.

wow, that was pretty boring.

mastering dominos is definitely one of the more retarded things a person could spend their time on.. hopefully they made a little money by breaking the record though

I can understand the feeling of accomplishment at that point even if I never built those things.
You could argue the same about so many things, that they're completely wasted time, but different people enjoy different things. :l

wow... i wonder how many times they had to rebuild it due to accidental pushing
|
=O well i don't care about how many pieces just wow pictures from them dam...

I must say, the mods must crack down on this shit. As for the video, terrible, terrible, terrible, choice of music. But hey, it lasted 2 hours. So that's about .4 seconds per domino on average. Seems kinda long if you ask me.

i thought it was a good choice of music

I mean it's really cool, but what's the pay off besides maybe getting some air-time? And good lord how long would it take to set that shit up.

They do this in Holland (this was also made in Holland) every year. They just add a few domino's every year so it's a new world record. I think it's pretty cool but it's getting old. They call it domino d-day btw.
A few years ago there was this huge drama when they were setting it up. They take like a month of setting it all up in a huge hall. So this bird comes in, wrecks up the shit and gets shot by one of the people working there. It gets in the news because apparently shooting birds is wrong and that was pretty much the number one news story in Holland for a couple of days. All kinds of environmental activist groups came into action against domino d-day.
Myeah.

Myeah.
the death of a fucking bird was inthe news for days? omg.
BTW they divide it in sections with especial separators so if they accidently knock 1 piece down it just takes that section and not the entire thing
|
If a child went there and ruined 3 months of dominoes placing I'd shoot him too, so i don't see the animal activist's problem is. They were treating the bird with as respect as they would a human being. + Show Spoiler +
that was cool, terrible editing though, I love those artistic drops ( the ones that make images and such)
|
well deserved bump, because new world record has been made, check OP for details and video.
|
and they show me THIS at my nation television and dont show me WCG, which is far more bigger event than this DominoDay2009
|
that video was fun to watch. all the joy of watching dominoes fall without actually having to set or clean them up.
