Do actually read before voting, "here" and "there" has nothing to do with the purpose of the poll, they're only place holders
It's simple, do what you "prefer". There is little reason or consideration. Simply vote either option and keep the following in mind:
If you feel like "balance", that you think a "balanced result" is good, that you feel that in any way, no need for a concrete reason, simply vote on the lower numbered option, to bring the poll back to balance. Example: If the score is A:4 B:1, then you vote B to bring the vote more even.
If you feel like "imbalance", that you think a "differentiated result" is good, that you feel in any way, no need for a reason, again, simply vote on the higher numbered option, to bring the poll out of balance. Example: If the score is A:3 B:2, then you vote on A to bring the vote more uneven.
Good Luck!
Poll: Balance or Differenciate (Vote): Here (Vote): There
Poll: Balance or Differentiate Round2 (Vote): Garble_P (Vote): Garble_U
Oh yeah after u vote would be nice to just post what u voted, either blancing or unbalanc it? and if possible why u feel that way?

Ah we're already seeing some results!
|
I don't know which is the higher result. They both say the same thing. Or is it always in order? I thought it ranked them highest % to lowest %. EDIT: Yeah, it definitely ranks highest percentage to lowest. This game fails. (The bottom is currently the high one though.)

make the one named "there" or something. i clicked the one that i thought would balance and instead it imbalanced

There's an option that you can set to make the poll options locked (which I'm assuming evan set). So vote for the bottom one, if you want to add a vote to the bottom and vice versa.
Edit: voted B to balance it Edit2: bah, poll restarted, well then I voted "there"...and I threw it off balance

It would be cool if you kept track of the poll over time. Like time-lapse photography but with screenshots.

It was in balance already, but I still would've voted in a manner to further unbalance things if a lack of balance had been the current state.
I enjoy landslide victories.

I'm guessing people will follow the trend, ie if the two are very close together they'll try to keep them together, but if one manages to pull ahead once, it'll pull further and further ahead. The first few votes are probably crucial. Let's see

I voted here on the theory that here is TL and there is gg.net
|
There. Everything good is far away.
Balance.
|
|
|
I voted for difference to ruin the game.
Then I read the thread and realized you can do that.
|
Chose to differentiate.
I guess it looks better, especially when there are only two bars.
Or maybe I'm a conformist. :|
|
it was 33:33 when i voted
i just voted here, cause well.. im here right now..
I would have voted differentiate had the option presented itself, concrete answers are always nice to have.
|
It was 34 34 when I voted, so I voted imbalance due to lack of balance option.
|
Definitely should have refreshed before i voted, i tried to differentiate and when i refreshed it was balanced (+2 votes for the other one, +1 for mine). Perhaps this could be considered a design flaw!
|
Differentiate. Fight the conformity.

You just don't vote at that point, because your goal has already been achieved.

Balanced poll cuz I didn't read rest of text before clicking.

What's the purpose in going for imbalancing here? Keeping it balanced is obviously more of a challenge (polls go imbalanced all the time, see what Boxer does), hence: Go for balance!
+ Show Spoiler +Oh, and economy crises also show why balances are important *wink* *wink*.

Well you don't really need a reason as to why you vote either here or there i suppose.

But to me and everyone else you are There. So how could you be Here and There???? o.O
And balance the poll back! it's more fun that way

Balance. I like things that way and don't know why.

It's funny how it was balanced when it first started then it becomes really imbalanced and now it seems to get into balance agian
|
here is a pretty good place. i like here.
yeah. i think i like here whether it's winning or not.
|
I made the difference bigger, because i felt like being an asshole at that point in time.
|
Balance! I'm the structured kind of guy who wants to bring everything back to order. call me a wuss.
|
Balanced.
It looks weird if one thing is so far in front of the other. And im always a fan of the underdog!

balanced, but idontknow why

Interesting. I prefer here rather than there.

i like it here, and it's balanced.

seems like balance is winning. equilibrium is good. people don't want chaos or something, and prefer stability.

While we're orderly here it's causing chaos somewhere more important.
|
There -> Disturbing the balance.
It was 143-143 when I voted.
It's so ballanced that it's creepy. Too much balance is as bad as unbalance. I like it more when it's at least somewhat out of balance.
When it's balanced nothing's happening! Usually I'd go for no change aka balance, but here and there (no pun intended :D) I just love to do the opposite and spice the things up a bit.
|
Well I like it unbalanced, but only if it's extremely unbalanced (like 100 to 1), otherwise I prefer balance. I think I voted "There".

I actually clicked to balance this poll
|
It's so much easier to balance it - you need half the votes. At the beginning, you might see a possible imbalance due to a few outliers voting in a row. But given that people are 50/50 (or maybe even more skewed) on the decision, balance will always win Oh yea, I chose imbalance lol
|
I'm frightened of drowning in the grayness of the mass.
Differentiate or die. Voted imbalance obv

only two votes apart, gogo balance!

lets balance that poll over there >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

My vote unblanced it because it was already balanced.

This thread is to decide if starcraft is imba or not, right? guess i'm not gonna vote atm. (cuz its balanced right now)
|
i tipped it off balance by voting for balance, yay me
|
i voted here when there needed 1 vote for perfect balance, YES
|
HAhhAha I thought when I went to bed last night that it'll be sure to show up really unbalanced in the poll. Most of you did get what this game is suppose to be though, although there are few of you who went on idiot mode and thought "here" and "there" are actually relavent to this poll at all. :p

Now I'm here! Now I'm there! :D

^ completely wrong, what an idiot.

I voted to balance the two of them. I dont think it really matters, though. It depends on what the poll is for whether or not balance is important, right? I mean, its not really important how close most polls are, because we only care about who or what wins, not how close the two are. If McCain and Obama got 49% and 51% of the votes, it wouldnt really matter, because (in this case) Obama would win. Therefore, McCain is out of the picture.

I voted to balance it because I'm a sheep. baaaaaaa

The poll will end up balanced if we assume half of the people want to balance it and half the people want to unbalance it. The balanced people's votes will cancel out with the unbalanced people's votes and we get balance, lol paradox.

Which means there needs to be twice as many unbalancers to register an imbalance in the poll?

balance = equality = fair =
freeeeeee Doooommmmmm!

I wanted to imbalance it, but god damn "There" is such an ugly word, and Here is so pretty.
I mean, I still voted There for the sake of the poll, but it pained me.
|
this thread is imba we need to ba it a bit
bal(loon)ance

Fucking OCD TL'ers. Unbalance it c'mon people!

first unbalanced (for the fun of it, hoping that then more people would vote unbalanced) second: balanced (to be different from first)

I wonder what would happen if there were three options...

Fantastic suggestion! Although I do think it'll still be all 3 balanced haha

a 1% difference should be within whatever margin of error/confidence level that we're going to go for.

Should we make another poll? See how many polls it takes until people finally decide to unbalance it.
