"Fifty-five percent said they had little or no confidence in Palin's qualifications and experience to be president, while 68 percent said they were confident in Biden's qualifications and experience. The poll shows Palin's image is suffering more among women than men. Sixty percent of women said they lack confidence in her, compared with 50 percent of men. "The McCain pick (of Palin) is maybe the most bizarre thing I've ever seen,"" What lessons do you think all politicians should take from the GOP's worst blunder since george W Bush?

This year It will probably be the Couric interview or, more so, Palin as a VP pick. People don't believe she has the brains or experience to be the VP. Considering that the media has been unusually harsh against her, the lesson that politicians should take from her pick and Ferraro's is that you should never pick a woman to be your running mate.

Facts aren't liberal or conservative, and unless you can prove that the media's been lying, the facts indicate that Palin's an incredibly underqualified and poor choice for VP. Look, my defense of Palin was part of the reason for the other thread being locked. If that is off-limits than so is this. You know that the mod doesn't want me to go in depth anymore in a comparison of the two vp's. And now because of this, people are just parroting over and over that Palin is a retard. Well, if that is all you can say, you're being childish. We're not allowed to discuss this anymore, at least that is what was said.

"It is an ad, in short, designed to engage the viewer on an emotional rather than intellectual level, to play to the subconscious mind. And that carries through to the tagline -- "Who is Barack Obama?" -- a question that the ad addresses only obliquely. What, precisely, is that supposed to mean? Shouldn't the ad be telling us who Barack Obama is, rather than asking our imaginations to run wild? I am no advertising critic, but the McCain campaign's ads are routinely among the most bizarre that I have ever seen, appearing to originate from a sort of parallel universe in which cartoonish Obama heads float disembodied before sepia-toned backgrounds, in which language is distilled to a technocratic shorthand, in which the line between imagination and reality is blurred. I find them exceptionally disturbing, and that is surely the reaction they are meant to evoke."

(In fact, it would be nice if we could shutup about character in general and focus on issues.)

You simply can't cram anything of substance into one minute of airtime. There has never been and never will be a political television ad that doesn't appeal "on an emotional rather than intellectual level". I also think the people who claim that this year's ads are "particularly" bad may be suffering long term memory loss. Karl Rove ran two much nastier campaigns than any in recent memory (McCain was actually a victim of his back in South Carolina, 2000), but trashy dialogue has been a staple of campaigning since the dawn of time. You really can't fault either campaign for resorting to this kind of shit. p.s. but i almost loled when she said "HOW DANGEROUS!!!!"

The problem is that you morons keep responding to evandi when he's clearly just looking to incite you with talking points and the rest of the mess regurgitated on Hannity's forums. Even Savio shies away from some critical questions or pieces of logic. To be perfectly honest, we'd have much better discussions with some Ron Paul supporters who could at least make a case for limited government and non-interventionist foreign policy. BTW, not that many people care about foreign policy anymore (even though they should) but I think the N. Korea watch list removal hurts McCain.

Even Savio shies away from critical questions or pieces of logic he cannot overcome. To be perfectly honest, we'd have much better discussions with some Ron Paul supporters who could at least make a case for limited government and non-interventionist foreign policy. While it is true that questioning Palin's intelligence has something to do with the 2008 presidential election, the mod locked the previous thread due to that discussion. But you all seem so certain this one won't be locked for the same thing. And now after all of your arguments get dashed and you can no longer respond, you claim you're just ignoring a troll. You like Savio because Savio isn't disagreeing with you on issues you worship with religious fervor. Savio is probably afraid of ending up like me. EDIT: Savio probably doesn't want to be called a troll and ignored.
