I need a new pair of shoes but i dont know what to pick. In my opinion most of the shoes (98%) are ugly so it's hard to find what i really want. I have no idea, i'm lost...
Please post a picture of the shoes you are currently wearing or the ones you like the most.
I'm aware there is already a 'post your shoes' thread but it's too old and most of the shoes are not on sale anymore.
Perfect shoes in terms of performance! Quality basketball shoes are the best in terms of comfort and most athletic activities, though obviously not specialized for running. They're actually great in the lab, too. I noticed I'm a lot more balanced than I was when I used to wear running shoes. This has probably shaved minutes off my pipette times and led to slight increases in accuracy!

That is because the current fashion trend is urban, which is bold colored clothing. Like someone said, good for hypebeasts. I dress urban as well, but I don't dress to the extreme by wearing colorful clothes, wearing 2 Stussy, TRUE, etc shirts, a jacket, a belt with a buckle, mid/high top shoes, shutter shades, HUF hat etc.
i lost this pair a while ago, and was agonized to no end. the first couple days of wearing them were the most ridicule-filled ive ever had (not true), but after that i got used to and even attached to them.

No offense but I think he just meant it's kinda weak to show off your shoes.
I mean, I don't mind it, but there's one thing buying nice clothes and shaving and showering frequently, and a completely different one to show pics of your shoes to your friends.
Not that I wouldn't have posted a pic of my Brunottis if I had found one on the internetz.
I got these atm but I been having them 6 months now....I have these on the way during the week I should receive them hopefully before July 4th...Here they are, same shoes but different colorways...
Oh and I have about every gosu colorway shox available.........Im not even going to post those pic's because those shoes are available at every shoe store out there......I always try to have a pair of shoes that nobody has out on the streets like these Nike Air Max 360 2003 like the ones I posted....I also sport a couple of pair of etnies......My nike shox's vary in color and model...
I just bought a new pair of shoes: Adidas t6-night db for $37.00. I was wondering if anyone has owned this pair of shoe before and what their thoughts were about the durability (how long did they last you)? Also, what are the cons about this shoe? thanks!
Here is a picture of the shoes, except these are in white (mine are in black):
I had this shoes for like 6 years now. Of course not the same pair. I mean always the new edition with different colours. But now I'm getting cold feet again and snow is falling so I need some warmer shoes now. I thought of them, but they are currently sold out everywhere
Closest I could find (mine have a legit steel toe, and are of a slightly different design, but the rest is pretty much the same).
Those are some pretty heavy duty shoes. Does your work require that you wear those type of shoes (like do you work in construction or something), or do you just choose to wear them? I'm guessing the former because those would be pretty weird to wear in an office setting or something.

I used to have the older model of this shoe and they lasted me well over 4+ years. I still have them around and they are in rough condition, but definitely wearable.
except with orange laces (courtesy of my cousin not wanting them :c)
While I think these look okay, they aren't exactly meant for harsh weather. Does anyone have any recommendations for shoes that are durable/dry in rain (rainy months incoming for Davis, CA lol) but don't look too bad?
I present TL the shoe that rules them all : The Warrior (回力) WB-1 It is a shoe designed in the 1970's in China and is still one of the most sold shoes there. They are basically the converse All-Stars of China. Behold their timeless beauty:

OMG i have the blue ones. like them so much im on my second pair now.
Roma. <3 I got a black on white pair, so sexy. Too bad they are now super worn out and old... need to get me a new pair. Got some Adidas classics on as a stop gap.

I've got labs in university which require steel toe boots/shoes. Also, it gets icy as fuck here in Ottawa over the winter, and the anti-slip grip on any Dakota boot is absolutely amazing (it's far from the first pair I've purchased from them). Plus, they're really, really fucking comfortable.
Really like those, they generally seem to have some nice shoes, too bad that site is slow as hell for some strange reason and I cant find a German place to buy any of those.
Great shoes though. Any of my TL brethren who have "suit and tie" jobs might want to check these out. Classy and made in the US of A by Johnston and Murphy.

Can you post a link to these please? I need some new shoes :>
little sample, I have like 30++ pair of shoes. I prefer puma cause 42,5 EU size fits PERFECTLY (for me^^)
right now I am searching for this ones, my local shops dont have them and the only internetshop I found that has them in my size is located in Hong Kong and I feel unsafe to order them from there.
maybe anyone has them and can give me shop link :D
edit
my shoes have a little bit other colors, but I dont want to waste hours to find the correct ones.

Here you are, the Johnston and Murphy Adler Cap-toe.

Love 'em too. Just pair these up with some pinstriped dark grey pants and some colourful v-neck and I'm ready to rock. /fashiondiva
I looked around a bit, and the only Manfield store remaining seems to be in Bremen. Considering the size of Germany, driving to the Netherlands might actually be faster...
I don't know, you could ask if they ship to Germany, though? These just got discounted some 20 euros and they seemed to have pretty good service when I went there. (Even got a free voucher to get my shoes cleaned up and fixed after two months. I don't know if anyone ever uses them, though^^)
I prefer the Sambas in black. I'm on my third pair of them. They're durable as hell, very comfortable for me, I can play soccer in them AND run in them while also not having to clean them.
Actually that's just my fantasy shoes because I missed the sale so I'll never own them.
Edit: Today I wore these-
Much less ambitious both in design and price tag, but I like'em. The colors for each element (left and right side, lining etc) were custom chosen by myself and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
I'm so fucked nowadays though, I live in Beijing and there are shoes on sale absolutely everywhere but never up to the size I need. Having big feet is so fucking inconvenient.
Oakley Biouvacs. (I still don't know how to pronounce that, dammit.) Easy to slip on and off, durable, damn near waterproof, and very comfortable. Good stuff.

what are the brands of both of those?
The first ones are Dior hi-tops from the 2010 S/S collection but aren't on sale anymore sadly.

Nope, I live in Korea = shoes that last for like two years that you throw away after half an year anyway I only buy "brand" shoes when function matters.
Bam. These things are so awesome. I got them at a college sports store when I was at a Penn State football camp. Dude had me run in an ally until he was happy with how the shoe worked with my run. I love these.
Onitsuka Tiger Ultimate 81 "Rabbit" Edition. Got them for super cheap (like $35 on sale) at Nordstrom and I get positive comments about them all of the time.
(Not my pictures, from some other guy's website... Mine are dirtier. Haha.)
i know it's gauche to resurrect super old threads but in this case i can't really see anything wrong... why was this closed?
re-opening (hope nobody minds), to the mod who closed this please feel free to PM me and if you are the one who is correct i will bury this thread in my backyard!

You don't need support to run fast. Look at all the Kenyan kids who run 10 miles one way for water... They could run circles around you while in their bear feet.
Man, I must have about 15 pairs of Feiyues in various states of worn out. Lightest most comfortable and agile sport shoes ever - end of story. I don't wear them about, of course, but you gotta love them.
most of the time I wear Frye boots or a pair of polo canvas shoes but these are nice when I don't want to ruin my boots. Video review- Zappos onitsuka tigers
@TheLardyGooser so fresh man. and I hope you're serious about the ladies.
I have the same, thanks JWD! Absolutely wonderful shoes; in addition I like my Onitsuka Tigers very much. Have a pair in the Black/Birch and White/Jet Black.
These shoes are the most comfortable I've ever owned. I used to wear cheap shoes like most people in this thread (or cheaply made shoes marked up 300%) Waterproof and good quality all the way.
As a man I am only allowed a pair of sandals, a pair of dress shoes, and one other pair of shoes, which for me have been those exact same Vans for the past like five years. That exact style has been going strong for like 50 years now, so no chance of it going away either. Another great thing is that every time I need a new pair I can just walk into the store, ask for these exact shoes in size 12 and leave without even having to try them on.
Got these for the GF for XMAS cuz she's been raving about them for as long as I can remember... will never pay that much for a pair of damn shoes again though LOL
Gotta agree on the one who said before, my god people here wear ugly shoes! (Outlaw guy seems to have taste) I've noticed it really to be an American thing, am I right to say this? Saw like 5 pairs here only that looked nice and not trashy WT.
This is one of each of me and my brothers shoes from about a year ago. We kind of have a thing for shoes...
damn nice.. I wasn't thinking about even picking em up but I cracked when I got to the store. I picked up two pairs of the space jams last year.. but I'm not really a Jordan fan, just get them for playing basketball in. Usually I get SBs, and I see you have a few of em in there, but damn that's a lot of AMs xD.
Pretty funny how almost everyone on TL seams to be wearing the same unimaginative sports shoes, are you all going to the gym or something? Anyway, now that its winter and all I bought one of these http://img534.imageshack.us/i/shoesiaec1001986.jpg/ Not very unique either I guess ^^ Edit: Couldn't get the image to work on TL, sry

I think the line for these was longer then the spacejam line from last year. Just nuts.
I got the space jams last year too, but this year I kind of strolled in at 5 pm just to see if they had them by any chance, otherwise I wouldnt buy them and they still did. In North Dakota we don't have a lot of sneaker heads. ;p

Well, when I get shoes like this, I only wear them when I go play basketball.. but if I'm wearing stuff around outside in the snow, I have boots or my old beater nikes.
On December 26 2010 11:26 MahatmaSC2 wrote: Is it just me, or are basketball shoes extremely ugly?
I agree. I never thought Jordan's or Nike Shox looked good. They all look rather silly and clunky to me. But then again, I prefer tighter shoes, such as Puma's. Guess that's just me though.

These are my bad boys, currently I like wearing the white/green nikes in the top right. But since it is winter and all snowy in my neck of the woods, I wear the brown work shoes on the bottom mostly.

Are you talking from only a casual point of view. Because I mean, you could have shoes for all kinds of hobbies too. Cycling shoes, running shoes, soccer cleats, basketball high tops, etc.
@decafchicken: I got the taller ones. Like them very much. The advantage of the shorter ones is in the double soul, but IMO it's not worth it if it's that much shorter, because then it's not as warm. They also just look worse. If you're going to get Tims, tall ones are the way to go.
Those for everyday usage (always have one pair in black and one in white, also I dnot have to try them on, anymore, makes buying shoes really comfortable)
For hiking, I recently bought these (they are great!)
I very rarely wear shoes, I'm barefoot all the time unless I'm going to work, playing sport (Hate getting my toes stepped on) or going out to dinner with chicks and then I wear these:
Closest I can find to what I've got in atm, mine have a cool checkered pattern towards the back and tbh the ones I posted are kinda ugly, in comparison to what I'm wearing atleast, I'm quite the skater shoe type and I lieks 'em

oh my gawt.. you're one of those guys? lol
=D
theres always a bunch of them playing hackey sack on the fields at my university.
Just bought me a pair of Claes. Different style, the jones. Damn they make the best effing shoes. Aslo really impressed with Supra, even though they're technically "skating shoes."
Don't get skate shoes unless you skate. But if you do skate I recommend these; they have gone through quite a bit of wear and tear and for the best part...
... as you skate them they change colors!
pm me if u wanna see what they look like once transformed =)
What shoes are these? Model etc.. gotta have a pair of these :D
/Edit Found the model :D
share plz, i want theseeeeeeeeeee
theyre dunk high AC. they were made for the 2010 fifa world cup. those represent netherlands, france, south africa respectively. The orange ones are probably my favourite shoes ever. theres also brazil (black) and USA (grey)
Dude, dude, dude and dude... it seems like you shave your legs? do you?
i sincerely hope not, i really do.
Why, i ask you, why?
Dont do it again, you shouldnt.
I hope my eyes decieve me, i hope they do.
Am i overreacting? maybe.
I'm going to get glasses soon, it may be my vision.
I hope it is.
I dont shave my legs.
LMFAO !!!!! naw ive never personally shaved my hair just the one time for the tat the artist had to thats it lol ... my hair grows fairly thin people always wonder if i do smh lol
btw i see there is a lot of shoe heads in this forum thats awesome !!! i wish i had a pic of my collection i just never had the chance to take a pic of all of them
I have both. I prefer the Treks (the kangaroo leather ones) as the flows are a much tighter fit (they have little give in the toes compared to the KSOs, which have mesh between the toes). There's about a 50/50 split of people who think they're amazing and people who are terrified. Older people in particular scoff at me. I don't care, they're the comfiest shoes ever and weather permitting, I would wear them every day (I already do to uni). I also have a pair of bamboo fiber toe socks that I wear with them when it is cold. They are the comfiest socks I've ever worn. I've been trying to find some bamboo fiber regular socks but they are so expensive.
I plan to buy a pair of Adidas Sambas and Nike Frees. The Frees especially pique my interest as I really dig super lightweight shoes that I can wear without getting stared at as much (which I don't mind but it can get annoying when people stop me and I'm busy doing stuff or on the way to class). And the Adidas because my Fallen Patriot IIs (pictured below) are falling apart after two+ years and now I can only find them in purple here.

Just got new Boxfresh shoes. They really hit my taste in shoes. At first the blue laces were kinda meh, but I really like the colorfull touch they bring in.
I went to multiple shops, and none of them had like the standard black ones, so I just decided to go with those, since I didn't feel like spending another hour/2hours running around trying to find some basic allstars.
I have been wearing them for like 5-6 years now (allstars, not the actual pair itself).
Getting kinda tired off them atm, so the next pair is probably gonna be something new.
For anyone interesting in Chi or POSE style running, basically landing midfoot/forefoot instead of heel striking, check out these Altra Instincts. They have a 0mm drop, which just means the heel and toe are the same height on the shoe, which allows you to run more naturally, like the Vibram Five Fingers. Unlike the Vibrams though they actually look like sneakers, and have enough padding to run concrete and rocky trails without worry. I just got them a week ago but am in love already.
Closest I could find (mine have a legit steel toe, and are of a slightly different design, but the rest is pretty much the same).

I'm still wearing them. And still fucking love them.
On June 29 2008 06:49 LonelyMargarita wrote: I now know I can outrun everyone in this thread. 95% of you wear shoes with absolutely no support whatsoever.
I'm bringing this old thread back because I always liked reading it and enjoyed learning about why people like certain shoes. For example, I love Adidas and always have. I own 3 pairs of them and plan to get many more because they're not actually all that expensive and they are super comfy.
Anyhow, I got a couple pairs of new shoes that I like quite a bit. The first is a pair of white Adidas Sambas. I already own a black pair but I always liked the look of White Sambas so I snagged a pair when they were having a Father's Day sale at the local outlet store.
The other pair is a little different. When Gangnam Style first came out a month ago the first thing I noticed when watching it were Yoo Jae-Suk's amazing super mega bright yellow Adidas he had to match his suit. As soon as I saw them I knew I had to have them. I thought they were probably custom since they matched his suit but I looked for them anyway. After I few hours of research I found out the model and luckily the Adidas online store still had them (they are hard to find anywhere else in Lemon Peel Yellow as it was discontinued and was limited edition in the first place). Anywho I found them and they are probably the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They're ridiculously bright, especially under fluorescent light or sunlight. They look amazing with dark jeans.
Here's a picture. I used flash so it would show just how obscenely bright the yellow can be:
i'm in a market for zoom flight 96 and air penny 2, i'm watching a few on ebay and just wanted to pre-test my luck on this too good to be true prices. i assume they're replicas or a fake website, is there a way to tell a scam site?
My Fav pair of hi-tops ever. Need get mine cleaned though. Not my picture. Probably will buy a new pair if I can find them. Bought mine in a footlocker in Detroit like 5 years ago.
Adidas Skateboarding Dennis Busenitz Pro, the most comfortabel shoe I have ever worn, and it looks damn good too!
Adidas Skateboarding Eldridge Superstar, actually for skating.
Adidas Varial Mid ST, because mid-tops are awesome.
I actually own another pair of Adidas Superstar NBA-edition shoes from 5 years ago, but I can't find a picture of them. I feel like I might have a problem with Adidas-sneakers :s
There's a nike outlet near my place, and they offer kicks for super cheap. These are the three I'm still sporting. The Dunk is probably my favorite one I've owned. (the olive green, white, red color schemed one). The Mogan 3's are pretty sweet too (grey and orange one), not a huge fan of the salazars though.
