invading another country killing scores of civilians is no reason to hate americans? and your reasoning for hating chinese people is because they're poor? lol ur fucked up It's amazing how easily people miss implications. It must go along with being emo, lol skin tight clothes and suicide notes. I was saying I would gladly see you nuked (the implication you missed). Also you have no reasoning. I said nothing about Chinese people. I was insulting you for being unable to separate a country's people from presidential policy. Americans are NOT killing civilians in Iraq. Terrorist and Insurgents are killing them. Iraqis are killing each other mostly. You think most Americans like seeing Iraqis die? Your focus on your 2 inch penis has blinded you from any hope of understanding reality.
This reminds me of a Daily Show skit a while back. America walks in to a bar called Iraq. He sees a poker game between two rival groups (Sunni and Shia), points out that they are playing by different rules, and both sides are cheating, and guess what? The US then slowly walks out of the bar.
It is obvious to everyone not living in the US that violence now is mostly your fault, even though it is being perpetrated by non-US people. If you destroy a countries' infrastructure and government, and don't replace it quickly with something at least a little better, people get angry and they kill each other. Isn't this obvious? If it is not, you need to travel the world a bit, visit some places that are not as "free, rich and powerful" as the US, and see for yourself.
Oh, and by your logic, being black makes you "THE MAN" due to your penis size. Are you like, 14 or something? You realize China has the largest population, and needed the one child policy, BECAUSE there is too much fucking. Oh, and you realize that the US can't just go around nuking people, as many, many countries have nukes, and most of them would actually side with China as they see the US as the major threat to global peace at this point.

roflmao... lets see, over the past couple of decades, Iraq (twice), Vietnam, random small conflicts in Yemen (to test out those nifty UAVs)....
Not sure about Yemen, but as for the rest, there were reasons given for invading.
Poor people in China, while definitely worse off than many other countries, are not that far off from poor people in the US.
I sincerely doubt that. "Poor" by american standards is generally quite a bit wealthier than \"poor\" by Chinese standards.
People are very friendly compared to large cities in the states, there is very little crime targeted at you (no guns, violence) and the only place where I felt safer as a traveler was Japan.
There is also very little crime/violence in the United States. And yeah, people in large cities in the USA do seem to be less friendly to me, but rural people are normal, so I really don't see the issue.
Oh, and it was the only place where I felt if I talked about my personal political views (being an atheist, liberal who was for gun control), I might get lynched or shot. I honestly felt hostility when I went to the US, even though my cousins and uncles were living there, and I was living with them.
It seems rather funny that you should talk about "hostility" when you consider that I asked a simple question, to which you responded with this ridiculously long-winded post of things that, imho, seem completely unrelated to my question.
Oh, and one more thing. The US probably has the highest concentration of people who think they know a lot, and are extremely loud and arrogant, but when you talk to them, all they can talk about are their material wealth, their own country, and their own business/jobs/experiences.
Again, you talk about "arrogance" of Americans, yet you come across as being rather arrogant to me yourself. I asked a rather simple question, to which I get this long-winded reply, much of which was totally unrelated, and seemed to carry the connotation that you were looking down your nose at me.

The nationalistic tendencies in this thread, on both(all) sides, are quite disturbing. I find the idea of having a flame war over who's country is the "best" surreal. I just read a post where a guy bragged about the nuclear arsenal of his country, how old are we? I sincerely hope you change before or that you never reach a position of considerable influnce. No matter how much you where joking, you came out as a potential massmurder proponent and a war mongerer.

And come on, don't even act like we're free in America. If you live in America, why are you flying a Japanese flag? Because I lived there for 5 years on an American military base and I find that basically everything is better there, except for white girls. The white girls are much better in America. It's always true that you end up where things that matter most are best.

Firstly, I apologize if it appears that my entire post was targeted at you. While the first paragraph was targeted at your comment, the rest were just a general discussion of ideas and issues bought up so far in this massive thread.
Also, nice work misquoting me about "reasons". It is obvious that the post you asked the question about was talking about how the US invade countries using one public reason, with a completely different reason being the real motivation. I mentioned this in my post, and you conveniently cut it out.
The Yemen "terrorist" assassinations using UAV did happen, and was on the news a while back. Our university's robotics department, of which I am currently a part of, had a guest speaker from the military talk about the use of robotic technology in the military. The Yemen case was one of many (have a search on youtube or any news video website) where the US used unmanned vehicles to bomb targets. Oh, and the US state department calls these "Kinetic Impacts", not bombing...
Comparing incomes alone between the lower class of the US and China does not give an accurate comparison of standard of living as economic needs in China are much cheaper than the states. I based my opinion on my trips to both the US and China, and mostly on built-up (cities, towns) areas. As for the crime rates, I am pretty sure everything I have read so far points to more murders and violent crimes in the US than many other countries, including China.
The fact that you thought just because I was talking about the US, my ENTIRE post was targeted at you, pretty much proves my point about US egotism and arrogance. It also goes to show the kind of hostility I mentioned experiencing for expressing something that can be part of a casual lunchtime conversation here in Australia. And I don't see how being "long-winded" is arrogant. And yes, of course my post is not related to your question, for the aforementioned reasons.
Have a nice day

It gives the false sense that anyone in china actually has any freedom as to what to say about their government. Besides, under what kind of circumstances did you live in china? I'm sure you'd be talking different if the government kicked you out of your house and demolished your house. As far as I'm concerned you're some rich prick who doesn't give a fuck about what happens to the poor in your country. Who cares if it's your favorite country to live in.

Most Chinese people have been brainwashed to hold the ideology of extreme nationalism. I am deeply concerned that world peace will be threatened when a powerful china emerges.
And I am sure i'll be flamed heavily for what I said.

Are you Chinese? As far as I've read there is considerable evidence that chinese nationalism may be "bottom up" as opposed to "top down" like you say. This is not a flame

I'm amazed that I even bothered to argue anything in this thread. With the exception of very few interested in honest debate, a lot of people will just dismiss your point with a generic, general statement and a witty word, sometimes embellished with a smilie. It doesn't matter how much thought you spent into making a response.

I think he was talking about "bottom up". I also agree with WiSaGan's thoughts. One interesting note on a discussion with my uncle who lives in China who told me that We should attack Taiwan just to teach them a lesson, when i told him we shouldn't fight and kill because we are all Chinese in one way or another, it is not a good thing to spill kindred blood. He replied with "What is so wrong about a father punishing a disobedient son?"

I figured that out a while ago, but I care too much about this topic to let it go. I always thought that serious topics deserve serious thought, but any discussion can't be just one-way, I guess.

My point has always been simply this. People who dislike Americans are fucking retarded. Now don''t get me wrong... there are plenty of Americans who are completely retarded.
However I\'m sick of assholes failing to recognize us as individuals. No single one of us is the embodiment of America. Not all Americans are not responsible for all the shit you blame us for. A lot of us were against the policies you hate in the first place. But what the fuck can we do? All we can be expected to do is vote in our elections and speak out. I know thats all you would do.
Many people hate Americans for our Iraq policy. But consider me. I was against going into Iraq. Why you may ask? Because militant Islamist groups are fucking impossible to deal with humanely. Sadam had no problem blowing their heads off. Sacrificing individual rights for safety and order was Sadam\'s policy. And it worked. It kept people alive. Americans don\'t have the well kill your children\'s children policy of Sadam and we can\'t keep order in Iraq for this reason. It was a bad idea and a lot of us (about 45%) were against it from the start. So do I deserve or the 45% of people who agreed with me from the beginning deserve any responsibility? Sure its still our fucking country. We pay the taxes that supported the effort. But what the fuck are we supposed to do?
Most Americans have no negative intentions. Yet we still are hated as a group. In no other country do bystanders who just want a good life get as much shit as Americans for existing.

Dude, seriously, have you been living under a rock? The "reasons" that the US gave for invading Iraq (WMDs) turned out to be completely bogus. This has been covered in the media around the whole world (including the US) so it amazes me that you don't know this. Unless you think that giving bogus reasons for invading a country and then claiming other reasons afterwards is justified. As for the "little crime/violence" in the US- it actually lead developed nations in gun-related deaths - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States Not only that but the US has one of the highest levels of income inequality among high-income countries- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Income_inequality_in_the_United_States I don't want to get into a country-dissing war. But it seems like its the Americans who are the most likely to go round calling other countries "shitholes" while ignoring their own problems. This high-and-mighty thinking and desire to try to interfere is what leads to debacles like Iraq . China has its problems, every country in the world has its problems and economically and socially China is still far better off than many other countries (look at poverty, AIDS, GDP etc in some African countries) and more importantly China is improving all the time. I think some Americans are so against China because it represents the first significant competitior to American hegemony since the end of the cold war.
