So, with the Iran negotiations coming to a close with Trump losing interest and feeling the consequences of gas prices for the midterms, Nethyanahu still needs an active conflict, so he broke the ceasefire (such as it was) and ordered heavy strikes and subsequent expansion of the occupation in Gaza:

The goal, well, as always, it's stated as "squeezing Hamas", but his defense minister was a bit more explicit:

“We committed that Hamas will not rule Gaza civilly or militarily, and so it shall be, and also the voluntary emigration plan from Gaza will be implemented,” he said in a social media post. “Everything at the right timing and in the right manner.”

So, more of very explicitly ethnic cleansing rhetoric, at this point it's par for the course.

I'd say "we told you so" but I'm sure that the resident fans of what Israel is doing will find ways to spin this into "Israel has the right to defend itself", somehow.

Iran is really dictating this conflict. What I mean by that is they can start it anytime they want by having Hezbollah just fire a rocket at Israel, the Israel 100% escalates and Trump then has too tell them to stop, and they have but after a few strikes. And it continually makes Trump look bad because they do it after he announces how close they are.

The only one who seems to notice is Lebanons leader who has told Iran it’s not their country but Iran doesn’t care. The whole region would be better off if Israel and Iran just actually fought each other instead of proxy wars.
