Given this, what's so bad about Sanders that Biden was chosen over him for this election vs Trump? Much of it came from a lack of understanding of how he was going to pay for all of his proposals. Monumental change for things like universal healthcare are wildly expensive, and even if the money currently allocated to health insurance that is currently paid by employers could be used to pay for insurance instead, there’s no guarantee that the employers would just give people more pay to compensate for the higher taxes. Even if my out of pocket costs are less, if my take home pay is also less, then it seems like a raw deal for the people that don’t use their insurance Not to mention there’s a lot of individuality in america and being required to do anything (like pay for health insurance) is going to cause people to recoil

I think that the dems have to pivot to Hispanics and just overall strategy to get Texas into the tent. Its definitely in striking range and I think would be a lot easier then plunging so much into Florida every cycle. 100% accurate. Dems have thrown $400 million down the drain in FL since 2016. Two lost presidencies, a governorship and a senate seat to show for it

Given this, what's so bad about Sanders that Biden was chosen over him for this election vs Trump? Simplified, Sanders wants to provide certain things (public health care and free-ish college education, the way you see in scandinavian countries), and while many of his policies have public support, there's a perception that the american public would not be willing to pay the tax increase required to fund those more progressive policies. Biden was largely chosen as a candidate because democrats calculated that hatred of Trump would function as something to invigorate people to vote while nothing about him really offends any large voter groups that might potentially ever vote democrat. Sanders has some policies that make people really excited about him, but he also has some elements to him that might scare people away from him. In a regular election, you want something to excite your voters to drive them to vote, in this election, Trump being the opponent was already that factor.

Way pay far more than nations with nationalized healthcare and get far worse outcomes for it.

Given this, what's so bad about Sanders that Biden was chosen over him for this election vs Trump? Basically people were more against Sanders than were for Biden. 1. Older black voters preferred Biden, which kept him in the race. They are moderates and prefer the safest choice, always. 2. All of the other moderates dropped out at once so that Sanders couldn't win (this was unprecedented, some of them dropped out while AHEAD of Biden), while the other progressive in the race stayed in so that the vote for her and Sanders got split.

The numbers on Hispanic populations in school districts would shock even a hardened democratic.

Ohio / Iowa are trending the wrong direction. Give up on Indiana as well North Carolina / Georgia seem to be trending toward regularly competitive Deep South and most of the mountain areas, no chance That leaves Florida and Texas as the only states where trump won with less than a 8-10 point margin
