Can you share those reports? Every analysis I’ve read by people in the know is about Russia not escalating on NATO soil after their drone in Germany . And reiterating that they will stand up for baltics. They base this on timing, plane choice, who went, how long they went for, and so on.

Trump is terribly lucky that EU is run by 70 year olds that - for all their life - have looked up to america and can't even remotely picture a world where american leadership fails.
Review the TRIPS agreement about mutual protection of interlectual property and just no longer use EU-taxpayer money to protect US-IP.
It's legal as a WTO sanction against a country that actively sabotages free trade ..and kidnapping presidents.. and closing the strait of hormuz directly falls under that category.. not even mentioning the erractic tariff policy.
No longer pay for Oil using US-Dollars. Just give Norway some good old Euros.

Oh, while I'm at it. I also think activists who keep insisting on calling North America 'Turtle Island' are cringe and lost in the lost sauce, calling every one Settlers.
Given Turtle Island is a mythology limited to only certain indigenous groups, trying to push adoption across the entire continent for all groups, in my view, makes them as guilty of pan-Indianism as portraying every indigenous group with a teepee, feather in hair, and a tomahawk.

I'm not denying we deserve it, but it seems like it would be more farsighted to have a plan to collectively deal with any democratic country that elects its own Trump or Bolsonaro or Le Pen. Neo-fascism is not a uniquely American problem and it's not going to go away for the rest of the world even when Republicans fall out of power here.

The major differences in Trump's petulance as compared to other wanna be strong men:
1. He is the head of state of the most powerful, both economically and militarily nation on Earth
2. He is the head of a cult that is fanatical, stupid, brainwashed and completely loyal
3. Due to how US electoral and governing system works, this cult gaining absolute power over one party means that he gets to rule unilaterally
So basically, the checks and balances are gone because Republicans are either brainwashed or afraid to stand up to the cult, they feel emboldened by that, he feels emboldened by them and the feedback loop creates a storm of pettiness and petulance that has never seen before.

Many an other strongman/woman’s actions I may find detestable but there’s usually some Machiavellian logic behind him.
Trump is so lacking in basic decorum or well, taste and class that it’s as pathetic as it is dangerous. The former isn’t something I tend to associate with many another far right populist

I was reading some apologies and retractions of announcers who got stats wrong in sports. It hit me as strange and disappointing that it is an expectation in sports that our commentators are accurate and correct but not the health czar or president.

Yeah, thats a thing tons of criminals do all over the world.
Burn some protected area, once the trees are gone there is miracolously new land for development.
It's also not moronic, if you don't believe/care about the enviromental impact, which (sadly) tons of people don't.
I wouldn't be surprised if after some digging you find a Trumpian golf course that suddenly came to be like that. It's basically the same as just bribing some officials to rezone formerly protected areas, arguably it's often the less obvious way to do it.

Well, considering a whole side of a political spectrum has adopted climate change denial as part of their right wing aesthetic, to the point of Trump's regime paying companies doing Wind farms to stop them, I'd say that billions of people simply don't give a fuck about that.
Reasons are varied, of course, from many just being plain old stupid, to quite a few convinced by conspiracies to the ones who know how devastating that is but think that they can avoid the consequences which will mostly befall "poor people who aren't me".
