Oh yeah, it’s a ban. Don’t even try to say it isn’t because of the 6 weeks thing. Reality does not support that weak ass argument.

And actually, with this law, if a woman gets raped and tries to abort the baby, she gets off so much worse than the rapist ever will. Talk about good family values.

Even if Roe was overturned the backlash and outrage against charging a woman who got an abortion, or worse a miscarriage, with murder would be epic. It's like redneck Sharia law.

Edit: The most cynical part of me wants Roe to be overturned just so we use the collective rage about it to push political change and get better protections in the long term. But then I remember that I'm effectively hoping for other people to be hurt as a path to a potential political victory, which is complete shit.

Again, redneck Sharia law. Edit: a Georgia appellate attorney pointing out some of absurdity that will result if this bill goes into effect:

Now, we will all rush to blame EA, but I doubt they were the source of this problem. As much as AAA games are filled with lootbox trash, Iphone and Ipad games publishers beyond shameless when it comes to this stuff. They are practically designed to trick kids into buying things using their parents accounts. And no amount of parental controls will stop a determined child who wants to buy some boosts for their favorite game. They will find a way, just like I found a way into to obtain illegal fireworks as an 11 year old. https://www.theverge.com/2019/5/8/18536806/game-studios-banned-loot-boxes-minors-bill-hawley-josh-blizzard-ea Also on the topic of games going main stream, there is a really good article about Fortnight and bullying due to skins and cosmetics. It is really well researched and something I wouldn't be aware of since I don't have kids. The shocking part of the story is the number of parents in the comments talking about experiences with their kids being called "Default"(default skin/weapons) and the social anxiety around not having the coolest stuff. Its like the worst parts of bullying poor kids for not having designer cloths, but in a video game. https://www.polygon.com/2019/5/7/18534431/fortnite-rare-default-skins-bullying-harassment We live is a shitty, cyberpunk future without flying cars and where the mega-corporations are just negligent and self absorbed, rather than ruthlessly efficient.

And the person who is charged would still need an attorney and to fight the charges. Hopefully the ACLU and other groups get all of this stayed and ruled as to terrible to be a law.

Many mothers no matter how many times they are told by doctors that it wasn't their fault put blame on themselves. I can only imagine how horrible that interrogation is going to go for all parties involved. There is also ignorant or angry men who already blame the women, this will add fuel to the fire. Not to go all slippery slope because it is horrible enough just as is but the consequences are far bigger. I really wish the pro-life movement would spend all their time an attention on improving the lives of all the currently born children. A lot more value would come from that and a lot less hate. Taking care of existing children costs money, time, effort and requires governing. Prohibiting women from getting abortions doesn’t require any of that. You just make it illegal and then the police go after the lawbreaking women and doctors. And it makes the pro-life lobby feel good because they are protecting babies without having to do anything.
