Trump has no scruples or regard for the law so I wouldn't be surprised if he attempted to use the military or DHS or something to resist by force. This is where his cabinet people need to step up and do their duty to the country. Trump used to have Mattis standing between himself and catastrophe. Now the secretary of defense is a random Boeing executive.

Now the secretary of defense is a random Boeing executive. I think he'll start off by saying "many leaders in the world would not tolerate a coup such as is being done by angry democrats and the enemy of the state FBI" or something like that. It'll start with threats.

It couldn't be any more clear. If there is proof behind the buzzfeed, trump should be impeached. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1086277705916502017 There should be no doubt about his guilt with a "defense" like that. I reads "shut up because my D is bigger than yours" imo.

Everyone who works for Trump is so bad at their job. https://twitter.com/courtneyknorris/status/1086315657749319682 I think it's possible that it wasn't even a deliberate lie, just incompetence (not that it matters). From the sounds of it, the protocols for documenting the number of detained children were a total mess. They're saying there were possibly thousands more than were reported, in addition to the continuing detentions after judge ordered to stop.

If she didn’t lie, then her agency was going rogue and making up their own directives on how to treat the children of people seeking refugee status. And then she should resign, because stealing children from parents is bad and she is accountable for the conduct of her agency. If she lied to congress, she should be charged and we need to know who told her to do that, if anyone.

The thing is, eventually Mitch will crack. Mitch is not Trump, but Mitch knows the Trump era GOP is strongest when it sides with Trump. Civil wars help no one. And yet, this is just going to get worse. Dems have absolutely no reason to budge. So long as Americans blame Trump, the longer the shutdown is, the better, selfishly speaking. Really bad for "middle class" Americans living paycheck to paycheck, but perhaps a net positive if it essentially ends up unseating Trump. This wall failing will pretty much guarantee he won't be re-elected. And yet the shutdown is probably doing the same to his credibility. Stay strong Nancy! You're absolutely killing it so far. ![]() Taken from https://fivethirtyeight.com/

This is a really strange situation because I am not sure if Trump is capable of breaking on this. But he has broken a few times before. He has some pretty embarrassing losses and this is looking to be he worst one yet. Is he finally fed up? Does he feel like he's been bullied enough and this is the hill he's dying on? It will bolster his overall argument that hes at war with th4 establishment. I wonder if it would actually prevent him from being able to declare an emergency or martial law or something though? On the other hand it may help him in doing that.

Edit: Also Also, shout out to the Nation Weather Service in Boston, working without pay to keep us updated on when the last possible minute to prepare for the storm arrives. We might have to prepare in a reasonable time frame otherwise.

Not that a frikkin rug would matter in the first place, but just because Trump is Trump, he can't even get that right. Apparently it was a Adidas soccer jersey... https://gawker.com/breitbart-com-is-sure-this-adidas-shirts-an-islamo-mexi-1603045854

There's a hilarious list of reasons why this rugs on the Mexican border is complete bullshit. 1) The Washington Examiner went off one anonymous source who they claim they had to keep anonymous for "fear of retaliation" 2) How do you tell it's a prayer rug? There's a lot of rugs that might just happen to look "Islamic" because they are popular designs and a lot originate from Muslim-majority countries 3) Why the hell does it matter if a prayer rug is found there? Even if it was a prayer rug, so there was a Muslim on the border. Unless it was confirmed it was a terrorist's rug, who cares? 4) No evidence of said rug. No photos, no confirmation from authorities, no other media source 5) "What Border Patrol classifies as OTMs [other than Mexicans] has really increased in the last couple years, but drastically within the last six months. Chinese, Germans, Russians, a lot of Middle Easterners, those Czechoslovakians they caught over on our neighbor’s just last summer." Yeah... Czechoslovakia hasn't existed in a while, and the rest is just... It's like the WE melded every fear of the extreme Trump voter. All they needed to throw in was the rug had a Hillary/Kaine 2016 sticker on the rug and stapled on a proposal for climate change action and increasing taxes. It's super rich, because I saw one Twitter hot take that went like "The media use anonymous sources all the time, so why does it matter that the WE uses one?"

A really grainy, and cropped one, which clearly shows that it's not a rug at all -.-
