And you know the part that Syria is a muslim country And for being a "religion of peace" they sure tend to end up in a lot of wars I didn't mean in terms of core values or culture although it is interesting to note that a large number of people in Northern Ireland were passionately anti English to the point of bombings and so forth and were also very passionately of a different religion to the English majority. But I was more talking in terms of "people are people everywhere". Christians seem to get into a fair few wars too. Do we have an atheist control group to check if it's not just a thing that people do?

Regardless of practical risk, I wouldn't feel safe at all.

Specifically photos of the scene and police. I highly doubt the shooters are sitting around on their mobiles checking whats new on twitter

If we can't do literally the most we can do in the name of common humanity then why do anything at all. Particularly if terrorists are threatening. It's probably better to give in to them. Are you serious? Terrorists being cunts is the price of having principles. Deciding that the solution is to just not have any principles is the wrong way to go.

The obligation to help other human beings and to stand up to terrorism has nothing to do with national borders and everything to do with our common humanity. In an ideal world I truly do wish we could accept everyone, world hunger would not be a problem, people would feel no need to kill each other and borders would be open for anyone. Unfortunately, this is not that ideal world and there are logistics and limits to it all. I truly do wish the world could accept refugees, I really, really do, but it comes to the point where if countries simply cannot accept them as a matter of logistics or if they are simply not integrating, it should not fall on Europe to accept refugees simply because we are humans.
