What if they are with people and they see their names are public? Can't end well. Also, how did they get these names? If they are wrong at all someone might lose their lives to vigilante justice. I don't think the police intended to make these informations public. I guess it's some kind of leak.

I hope they capture or kill these guys quickly before they murder anyone else.
Western society needs to stop worrying about offending sensibilities and take a strong and non-compromising stand against violence caused by ideology. If you think believing in a star and crescent symbol, or a cross symbol, or a hammer and sickle symbol, or a swastika symbol, or whatever symbol, gives you license to massacre people then you need to be disabused of that notion in the strongest (non-violent) terms possible.
Regardless of whether it offends other people who believe in that same symbol.

I can't remember a time where names being public prior to apprehension ended well.

Maybe they want help the population to get them ? There is no benefit for the police or government to have the people take them. There's a risk of them dieing in the process. Knowing their names are now known might also make them kill more people or hide even better.
It's probably another case of the media being stupid and preferring a couple of bucks and hyping stuff up.

Exactly. You can look at this couple ways. Either they want more information about them or they just want to let people know that they haven't vanished. Big country like France should have the means to capture couple terrorists on their soil, especially after an attack like this. I'd be worried myself if it took them longer than this to identify/inform about the attackers.

you add to this that in the european union you have no more control border, it became way easier to import those kind of weapon

too be fair though I assume its hard to do a full search throughout the country and keep the names secret. maybe this just makes it easier so the police don't have to worry about descretion. plus as stated otherplaces this could be a leak.

This has been the case of Merah, another terrorist acting alone around 2 years ago iirc. He then became a martyr, a hero of radical islamism. So yeah i'd say no, I hope they are captured alive and judged as they should be. It's not Ben Laden's or Saddam Hussein's or Kadhafi's fucking execution. As of the potential other victims I'm not too concerned, their attack was very specifically aimed at the journal.

If not, a rather simple to get recreational shooting license allows you to buy a semi-auto AK in France legally.
