This. I always think if you think too long yourself when playing very risky and aggressive you lose a lot of monumentum since the opponent can use your time to think too.
Anand is losing more and more of his advantage by thinking too long

Two pieces control f5 atm and g6xf5 would open the g line for white. Edit: assuming a knight/bishop trade beforehand. Further edit: I don't think white f6 is that good of an idea. the answer g6 limits both the white bishop and knight. I don't see any obvious good fields after f6g6. but maybe Anand shows something smart with it. Yeah I agree. f6 seems like a scary idea, but it seems to throw any attacking ideas white has away after being met with g6. Nh5 seems like a better idea. oh boy. just as i say this my liveticker posts an idea after f6g6 with the queen to enter the attack through the h-line. This also brings the left out knight back into the game to e8.
I'm still skeptical about it though. And just now dinner is ready. gtg

Anand is losing more and more of his advantage by thinking too long Sure he's losing a time advantage here, but the position is so delicate that his attacks could collapse very easily if he pursues the wrong lines (at which point black has some scary looking lines).

Lol this commentary saw like 3-6 moves and they almost have to change again
|
Anand has spent almost 45m on this move?

Maybe only 2 moves btw, lol, I did not keep track exactly

This is great! Yeah, it's a really complex situation. Anand seems to have good chances, but he has to get it right here.
I feel this is the first game I really see Anand digging deep to find the absolutely best move and push himself as far as he can. He is not happy with a draw here.

So about a move a minute now. The action has just started.

This incoming attack looks scary to defend with 16 moves to be played with 30minutes on the clock. Very interesting.
EDIT: oh man I missed Ne8 as a response to Qh4 :O
|
after Qh6, Rh4 black seems to be able to defend just barely
that means, queening and immediately giving up the queen afterwards
|
I love how the engine suggested gxf6, the computer just doesn't give a shit
|
This position is great.
yeah gxf6 I saw too.. but a human would never play that in such a position :D
|
Hmmm conputers are suggesting Ne2, not really following the line of the commentators, also a different follow up if QH6 is played
|
holy shit magnus can defend ahahahah

12 minutes left.. oh damn..

I think Carlsen is now completely lost. How on Earth he will stop Qh6, Rf4, Rh4, Qxh7#?
Haha, just as I predicted! ...b2, and White checkmates with 2 Black Queens on the board... or... not?
NVM, Anand is losing... Yuck...

Carlsen will be a pawn down after queening
