I laughed.

So, just had some time to look at the game, really interesting position.

Can someone tell me a little about ratings?

What would be the difference in points where one would say "player A stands no chance vs player B"?
Or in other words: how significant is the 95 points between Carlsen and Anand?

Its something i dislike about the that commentator. He tends to go off on long extrapolations of moves even while the players are making moves in the mean time. Would much rather see shorter extrapolations that keep truer to the current board.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

"The difference in the ratings between two players serves as a predictor of the outcome of a match. If two players with equal ratings play against each other, they are expected to score an equal number of wins (50% each). A player whose rating is 100 points greater than his or her opponent's is expected to score 64%, if the difference is 200 points the expected score for the stronger player is 76%."

just an update, anand (black) is 1 pawn down, but carlsen's king is exposed and 2 of his pawns are not advanced. play proceeds unusually quick. unlikely that carlsen cannot defend properly.
There is no such thing is "e-sports". There is Brood War, and then there is crap for nerds.

This is a guaranteed draw now. If anyone is wondering to keep watching... All action has ended now.

Thanks.

So with what I read about this championship setting and preparation, this 95 point rating difference don't seem to be that big of a deal.

64% win odds in a 12 match game are pretty significant.

All the computers have this game at a dead end draw right now, 5 in a row quite unfortunate.

just got here, missed most of the game :/
Can anyone give a quick update on how this game's progressed? Were there any turnarounds and such?

Oh god Anand didn't see RA1 looks like he is going to lose after all?

Massive blunder. RA1 was a very simple forced draw for black after now he is going to get crushed if Magnus carries it properly.

thanks^

As a side note, this shows how little I know of endgames,
I have no idea why anands move was a blunder, even looking at the engine lines
Guess I'll find out in 12 moves or something

This actually looks like a genuine blunder, White seems to have a forced, won rook ending at his disposal now.

And ...Ra1 seemed so natural as well.
