Yep, its true, the star of brokeback mountain is going to be playing arguably one of the greatest villians in movie/comic book history. Thoughts, opinions?
“Heath Ledger is perfect for the role as he has never played this kind of part before which is what Nolan was after. Think about it -- if you see Sam Rockwell or Robin Williams or even Hugo Weaving, you’d know exactly how they would play the role before even seeing the film and that’s not very intriguing for fans is it? I have a feeling Paul Bettany was out of the mix after his performance in The Da Vinci Code.”
The other B man movie rocked, more importantly the guy they have playing Batman is fucking PERFECT. I hope it does well and lives up to the last one. Loved that flick.
I mean, the way i see it, if you call me a faggot, you're calling me gay - that i sleep with men. But i do sleep with men. Why not call me hetero instead?
If a faggot does get a offended by being called a faggot, he's acting like a faggot (effiminate) by getting offended at all. Suck it up! Act like a man!

i knew you were being sarcastic.
i didn't think my response implied differently. T_T
edit - i didnt think you were serious about people getting gay. I was simply commenting on the fact that many homosexuals would get offended by being called a faggot! Faggots have no reason or right to get offended by the term.
Mora watch your damn language. There are some heterosexual ass posters on this site who may be offended by your lack of vagina penetrating sensitivity when you call them straight
this paragraph would be obviously sarcastic too, but would never be said since it's never applicable. No one ever tries to insult a person by calling them a vagina-fucker. Therefore the sarcasm loses its depth - as should 'faggot'.
I just know in Batman Forever the guy playing Batman did a terrible acting job. I know it's batman.. and you can't expect an oscar performance. But lord oh mighty... very stilted acting and he couldn't even do Bruce Wayne right.
That's cool; I'm looking forward to the new Batman movie - Batman Begins rocked. Also, I hope the Scarecrow makes another appearance in this one cause Cillian Murphy was awesome for that character.
As I think about the casting more, the more I'm beginning to think it may be a part of their approach to the Joker character. From what I've read, the plan is to do more of Joker's development so that the Joker persona doesnt actually appear until midway through the movie, much like how they did with Batman's character in Begins.
If true, the gradual change from the pre-Joker character into Joker could be parallelled with Heath's gradual change from an actor who's seen to only fit certain characters into one who can pull of an insane Joker-like character. The result would be that there's a sort of dual development/change of both character and actor in the audience's eyes making it all that more dramatic.
Hugo Weaving would be an interesting choice, HeMaN. I haven't seen any films where Ledger plays a similar character, so I'll have to wait till it's released. I trust Nolan to get it right though.

Johnny Depp playing the Joker would be awesome.
I love Depp and think hes an amazing actor but him playing joker would fucking suck ass. Hes becoming the wet spot of every 12 year old girl in the world and Joker being him wouldnt be great.
