I don't really like Get lucky that much. The rhytm-guitar work is really nice but the vocals falls flat - with a boring hook that fails to lift off. After about 2:30 minutes an instrumental/synth-voice breaks comes that are pretty nice, but still doesn't fly when it is joined by the refrain. I feel that two and a half minutes is a long time with Pharell's lyrics starting at 0:15.
Quite crude and boring structure of the song, follows the standard. I don't think there is enough material in it for 4 minutes.
Still it is a decent song and I don't mean to bash it. 3/5

It kind of reminds me of those old 70s pop hits, like Chic or for some reason I'm reminded of Junior - Mama Used to Say. Which I think is sort of what they intended to go for.

That is because the guitarist on this track, Nile Rodgers, wrote for Chic ;-) You can listen to him telling the story in the Collaborators video with him, linked in the OP.
At first listen, the single is really weak. The Pharell's vocals are kind of '...what?' it's not anthemic like One More Time or Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, not does it pound like the tracks on Human After All, nor does it have the more mellow sounds of something from Homework.
Despite that, after a few listens (especially on a nice sound system or listening while you drive) you get hooked. The guitar work by Nile Rodgers is AWESOME. Other than the first line or two, Pharell's vocals are catchy click perfectly with the vibe on the song. On top of that, the lyrics are actually good? I know that sounds stupid when talking about a electronic song with essentially 4 lines of lyrics, but it's true.
It's a very different track from what I expected, but not a bad one. I'd give it 3.5/5 or a 4 depending on the rest of the album and/or the album version.
