Random Access Memories is the upcoming fourth studio album by French electronic music duo Daft Punk. It is expected to be released under exclusive license to Columbia Records on May 17, 2013 in Australia, May 20, 2013 in the United Kingdom and on May 21, 2013 in the United States. The album features collaborations with several artists including Nile Rodgers, Paul Williams, Giorgio Moroder, Pharrell Williams, Todd Edwards, DJ Falcon, Chilly Gonzales, Panda Bear and Julian Casablancas.
I liked the song before Pharell's singing got added. I've listened to several youtube extensions and remixes of the 15-second SNL ad. I'll probably like them more than Daft Punk's original. Hoping I'm wrong here when the full song gets released.
Very excited about this; it'll never live up to the hype but hopefully it'll be like human after all where a year later it suddenly all falls into place.
Best news next to new album would be confirmed tour dates.
This is going to be sick, the Giorgio Moroder interview was enough to convince me this will probably be album of the year (hopefully with the new Pet Shop Boys coming in a close second).

This is exactly what I want to hear; I've always had a thing for disco-tinged house, and DP's willingness to put conventional instrumentation at more of a forefront is going to allow them to create some really awesome sounds. Sometimes, good electronic music needs strings!
