Similarly, being singled out does give Armstrong the ability to genuinely play victim, if he knows everyone else doped and couldn't beat him anyway. I think doping sucks and will eventually cause people to lose interest, or worse, search for greater extremes. I also still hold out hope there are clean athletes who compete in spite of the assertions of the cornered drug dealers who would claim everyone does it, both in an attempt to legitimize their practice and to get a slap on the wrists.

When you think about it he really still win those 7 Tours because everyone else you're competing against is also doping. ^_^

Lance Armstrong will go down in history as a 7 time Tour De France Winner, and will never be forgotton. This is politically motivated and won't stand up to any normal mans scrutinity. He is a hero and will always be one. We Will Remember Is this a serious post? I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Cycling is (arguably) the dirtiest sport in the world and hopefully this whole ordeal sends a message to the other athletes to fucking stop this shit from happening.

So they should probably do that. What? According to the ESPN article, he never cheated and he never did anything wrong o.O Alright I'll be the first to say I have no clue about any of this. If he did nothing wrong why are they taking his medals away? Cause they like to party?

I guess 5:20 onward to the next topic. It gets good around the 7:30 minute mark and it's pretty accurate. 9:40 they talk about cycling.

Just about everyone who raced at that time was doping, probably including Lance. They will have to go through a very long list of cyclists before they can find someone who actually was not doping at that time. Stripping him of his accomplishments is just petty at this point and gives them a bad reputation with the general public, who see Lance as a hero, an inspirational man and a champion, not as someone who would repeatedly lie about cheating. Regardless of the actual facts, I can't see this having much of an effect overall.

This leads me to believe that he obviously did dope at one point or another. But still, as other people are saying.. I can guarantee you like 50% or more of the people he was competing against were doping too.. lol. So its an accomplishment in one way or another. They need to just legalize doping and see who can dope the hardest to achieve victory.. Just make it a free-for-all. That way you don't have to worry about it anymore.

But the sport is a joke since they just ban everyone... I bet 99,8% of all Tour de France Winners doped, so just ignore it or legalize some basic Drug for everyone. It is ridiculous, these Titles didn't mean anything when the Winner and 2nd Place just gets banned and a few Years later the 3rd is now the official Winner. TEH FUCK?!

Well according to the OP's articles... He's still getting harassed (after years and years, and now that he's done competing, it's rather absurd that he's still getting bugged about it), and he's declared that he's through with doing any more of these drug tests because he's passed every single one while racing in the past and he wants to be done with this nonsense. So the corporation is apparently taking this refusal to comply with another drug test as an implicit (bullshit?) admission that he's doping. I don't know how, but yeah. And that's apparently grounds for taking away his past medals, even though he won them while passing all his previous drug tests. Something like that. That's what I got from reading the information in the OP.

And you can get by doping tests, as long as you know when those tests are going to be administered.

We should have a world tournament akin to the olympics where athletes are allowed to take every possible measure they want to compete at their highest form. If they want to die at 25 to sprint 100m in 6 seconds, I will watch that shit. This is a stupid witch hunt. If you have a sport where everybody dopes, crucifying the winner in a manner which the public doesn't give two shits about doesn't do anything except make you look dumb. You can't retroactively strip people of titles -- no once cares. If you want to make this effective, let him win the the title, and then dope-test him right as you're putting the trophy into his hands on national television. That's an effective measure lol -- you'd just have to find a test with 0% false positive to make that work ![]()

Cause most of Armstrong's teammates were found and charged for doping. Still doesn't mean that Armstrong was using as evidenced by all the drug tests he passed, not like Landis who failed after his win. Yeah, since all they're going by is "He used to dope." by former teammates, they don't have much of a case.

They have an "open" division, and an "amateur" division. "Amateurs" get random drug tests, "open" competitors don't. End of story. They need to just legalize steroids for certain sports like cycling... Screw it. Just see who can dope and train the hardest! Let it be a free-for-all. At least things will be a lot more fair and competitive that way. The war against steroids is a futile battle to fight anyways.
