Oh it so great, I didn't mind (nor notice) the alcohol burn at all. It was decently high percentage, at least like 12%, anyone have any ideas what it was? Probably Bailey's or something like it. That stuff's delicious.
baileys is cream liqour, although they might have different flavors that I have not see. Only chocolateish liqour ive seen is kahlua its coffee chocolatey.

Beer like Guinness, Stella, Heineken, Coors, Miller for a casual drink. DVRB and shots when I go out.

I'm not a fan of Bud but honestly, this is actually very good. Arrogant bastard Stone IPA is very good if you like stronger beers. yes I have tried the platinum and I'll admit I was pleasantly surprised. Much better than regular bud light

With all this praise for Bud Light Platinum, I want to make sure no one gets the wrong idea. It's really bad.
I hadn't even heard of it and a buddy of mine bought a 12 pack for us to drink last week. It'll get you drunk faster than normal Bud, but it tastes like you're drinking cheap, hard liquor mixed in soda water. Also, it's only 6%, which is higher than regular Bud (5%) but much lower than a lot of really respectable beers. There's a brewery near me that sells $9 half gallon growlers ($6.50 on special days) of an 8.2% double IPA that's really good, and another that has a 8.4% Belgian wheat at a similar price. When you factor in the higher alcolol content of such beers, Bud Light Platinum doesn't even have a very good drunkenness/cost ratio.
For perspective, I drink pretty frequently but not often to excess. I like good beer and spirits, but I'm not an elitist about it. There's nothing wrong with drinking some regular old Budweiser, MGD, Coors, or even PBR. I would never spend money on Bud Light Platinum. Hell, If someone offered it to me for free (at a party or something), I might even go out and spend my own cash on different cheap beer, rather than drink it.
Save your money. It's terrible.

There's a ton of great beer. Stay away from big industrial-macro-brews, most of the time, but the US craft beer scene is one of the best in the world!
Seasonal: Watermelon Wheat (usually any brand that has it in N.Y is great)
Polish: Tyskie, and Zyweic German: Weihenstephaner American: Dog Fish Head, Sam Adams, Michelob.
Great thread though, I really love to try different beers and the like, still searching for a favorite - this thread should help although that Watermelon wheat... idk if it can be beat.

Why the hell do you add mix to a premium vodka. It'd taste nearly the same with bottom-of-the-barrel shat... not that Grey Goose amounts to much more than marketing, but that's a different rant altogether.

slow self medication ?..... I have a very bad idea about alcohol ( besides the poisoning/violence thing ) so I quit around 4 years ago. Tequila was good tho, 2bad I almost killed myself drinking 15 shots of that thing ( was drunk, but not even close to a coma or whatever, after a while I found that some people may go into a coma after so many shots ) when i was 15. Beer ? I hate it, a lot.

My favorite would have to be boulevard brewery. I don't know if any of you guys live around the Kansas City area, but I love just about every beer they turn out, especially their pale ale.

I love girly drinks in general, hard drinks such as whiskey taste like shitty medicine, though vodka mixed with some juices can be quite nice, anyway, personal favorite must be "Caipirinha"(alcohol from sugarcane, tahiti-lemon, ice and sugar), I haven't had much experience with beers but I tend to drink either Stella or Heineken, mostly Stella.

Stella is crap beer in Belgium. Heiniken is crap beer in Holland.
It's all marketing that gives them a 'premium' label here. They're about .50/bottle over there. Look for local alternatives, you'll find blondes just as smooth, with a much smaller price tag. Great breweries are dotted all over North America, and most have sampler packs that include a few different styles. You might run into beers that are a little bitter, sour, dark, etc. for your taste... power through it. Most quality beers' flavour will alter as they warm up a little, and the last few sips always taste different than the first. I've had many beers that I didn't like at the first sip, and ended up loving by the end. Appreciate the diversity!
