Craigslist ads for cars (or I guess ebay ads and such too): 1) just because you spent $500 on a spoiler, $650 on a new transmission, $1,000 on lowering it 6 inches, and $60 on new blue headlights, does not mean you can add them directly to the KBB price of your vehicle. You can spend thousands of dollars on your '96 civic, it's still never going to be worth more than $3,500. Don't whine about how much you spent on it. A buyer should not bail you out on bad investments. 2) going on about how great your car is, and then at the very end of the ad, mentioning, "Oh, the block is out, you just have to put it back in, and it's good to go." Fucking bullshit, either drop the price that should be on a running car, or put the block in yourself. And why is the engine out at all? Could it be... it's a lemon??? And in the same breath, slipping in at the very end, "it just has a gasket problem/rod knock/blown gasket." Oh, so all it needs is a new fucking engine, or if I'm super lucky, an extensive costly rebuild? Sweet! 3) The ad looks great, the car looks great, so you call up the guy. Guess what? The title isn't signed! Or the title "hasn't come in the mail yet." Or "it's signed by the previous owner, you just have to fill in the date." There's either something very shady going on with the vehicle, or, you were too cheap to register the vehicle in your own name and pay sales taxes or tabs. Filing for loss of title is a huge inconvenience, it can take a long ass time. Not to mention if it turns out the car is stolen or salvaged... you're fucked. It's upsetting because you can basically count on a good chunk of the population looking for an opportunity to fuck his fellow brother over. This is why the 99% will never rise.

"Great starting car for high school / colledge student" (lol iPhone almost wouldn't let me play stupid) Arrive after 3 hours drive, he means a good car to begin a restoration project. And I bought it, thinking a rebuild would solve things. I learned something that month. Ohh, I learned something. But regardless great starting car? "Oh I meant project". Oh so a engine replacement is a good starter for a high school student. Then the DMV says the car cannot be registered until I fix it. So I still have it, will possibly fix it... Someday... Gears ground to dust, I hear you. But this one is my fault too. On the flip side have hope, 4k for a 2005 ranger in near mint condition. Craigslist can be a good thing.

Agreed with whoever said they can't stand people that say math classes are pointless. I'd add that to just about any class though. Econ is pointless, yeah, not understanding the basics of supply/demand, and opportunity cost are two big reasons that people fail every day in their finance management. English is useless, I'm not going to write novels, and what job will I ever need to write a 10 page essay in? No, you're right, learning how to properly research an item and build a strong case around it is completely useless in all facets of life. Diagramming sentences is pointless? The analytic skills involved in that are just utterly worthless, and completely inapplicable in any real life/work scenario, right? Except you'd have to be a complete fucking retard to think that. Then they bitch about how hard life is when they're stuck working at some shit-hole job for the rest of their lives, because they never learned how to use their brains beyond putting their pants on and getting fucked. People that are obsessed with cars and fixing them, (but don't do anything work related with them) and try to talk to me about them. Cars are great, and I'm glad that at least some group of people really loves them enough to design and fix them, and I get that having an idea of how to do basic maintenance on your vehicle is a really good thing since it'll save you thousands throughout the year. Beyond that, cars get me from A to B, and maybe look kind of cool while getting me there. I don't care, and please, keep that fucking lame ass discussion somewhere else. Also people that are overly interested in guns and military weaponry and aren't in the military. Why? It just doesn't make sense. At least cars are worth knowing about; I can understand people's passion for cars (doesn't make their conversations any less awful), but weapons? Who cares what bullet can hit what target from how many thousand yards, or what plane is faster and better than the others? This actually has no practical application to your life if you're not working on/with them or designing them. SHUT UP. On November 04 2012 03:15 iKill wrote: You know what? I agree. It isn't about expecting people to act to their full potential and getting mad about it. It's about being an absolute prick in delivering that message. One could say "I'm really disappointed in the way you handled that, I thought better of you," and deliver a very impactful message that might actually inspire someone to do better with themselves. The message above serves as nothing but a way for some jerk to vent, typically will not be received well (or with anything but disgust and resentment), and will serve nearly no purpose in changing future outcomes. I'll agree that most people are overly sensitive: I think you should be able to flat out tell people when they fucked up, and how to do the job better next time. Like, in my line of work, if someone overlooks a very simple process, and escalates it to the next support level, I should be able to say that behavior is unacceptable, and they need to shape up. The only reason that should make someone mad is because they got caught being a lazy shit stain and got called out on it: they should be mad at themselves. But there's still a line that has to be drawn somewhere, and taking your anger out on someone because they made a mistake, in such an overt manner is almost never the best way to handle a situation (granted, if someone is repeatedly doing the same thing, and other methods are not working, maybe it could be beneficial... or maybe that person needs to be thought of as less/fired in a work scenario). Also, agreed with whoever said they dislike when people speak in memes. I have some friends that talk like that. "I gives no fucks," or "I can has," or "I has xyz." Stupid. I'd actually expand that to say that it's a mild irritation when people bring the internet culture into pop culture at all. I think it's because I was part of it when it was all really starting to bloom, and these people are just riding the waves of popularity, and in some sense I feel like they're stealing from us. It's like when your favorite band sells out to make some crappy music for a couple of albums, and everyone loves them and is a bigger fan of them than you are. The internet used to feel like a secretive club to me, where inside jokes came about very rarely, and meeting someone who knew what you were talking about was kind of exciting... now, ever asshole on the planet knows what a lolcat is, and they tell me about it as I haven't seen this stuff since its inception, practically. I guess it's just a part of me that felt like there was a real sense of community and belonging, and everyone being in on it has kind of killed that feeling for me.

AND People who bitch about learning math. "That's what calculators are for!" "When am I ever going to use this? Can't I voluntarily not learn some elementary numerical logic?" "When am I ever going to solve for X lolol" One thing I'm observing more, as a former tutor and a grad, is not only are people resisting logic and any amount of work, but people are resenting math because it has some absolutes (please, no number theory stuff, I'm talking basic shit here). If you have this kind of equation, this is the only solution. To find the solution, you can use any or all of these steps. If you do this every time, in this pattern, you will always be able to find an answer (or prove no solution, whatever). So much of math until like proof based classes are all pattern, rules, and checklists, they require very little "outside the box" style analyses. There's little whiff of anti-intellectualism because they value crap like apple products, starbucks, social media, and whatever latest trends and products far above self improvement and knowledge. Good thing we're cutting more education spending and make college unaffordable for the have-nots. That'll do the trick. *exhales*

For one, those people seem to have contempt for others who have a reason to be offended. HMMMMMMMMMM And lastly, people who constantly use offensive words and when someone gets offended, they hide behind the excuse that they are just words and they have no meaning.

Oh yes...Guy Fawkes day was yesterday. I wanted to punch all the /b/tards wearing those stupid masks. Just because some of the funniest things that existed came from 4chan does not make you a funny person for being a part of it. Especially when they spew memes every 10 seconds. The most common thing I have been hearing as of late is russle my jimmies and do you even lift, even when the statement has no relevance to what is going on.

Yes, the teacher's bad, we get it. Stop complaining and teach yourself. You've got the fucking textbooks, the curriculum, the internet! Educate yourself instead of complaining that the arbitrary knowledge person you've been GIVEN isn't GOOD ENOUGH to fucking forcefeed you information! Jesus goddamn christ.
