What grinds your gears?
For me, its when my butt sweats. At taekwondo I sit down for a long time, stand back up, and several people are looking at that wet bum crack-shaped patch on the floor and sniggering.
Also, at school, I hate it when the teacher chooses some retarded kid who can't read for shit and can't pronounce "difficult" or "Federation". Yeah, that really grinds my gears.
I also hate how people fake being nice, particularly celebrities shaking the hand of some poor half-starved African kid while smiling for the camera, the sun reflecting off their immaculate white teeth.
And most journalists grind my gears. Self-explanatory.
What grinds your gears?

probably the thing that grinds my gears the most is when ppl rationalize their own mood by blaming other ppl and making those ppl's attributes out to be bad etc.
like, imagine ur sitting outside reading your hume or whatever, and some sk8r sk8 by saying "lol gay" and whatnot to eachother. what makes them wrong? it seems like a perfectly valid way for them to be handling life. but what u do is ur like fucking fake sk8rz! they think they're cool! or whatever. but really its not their fault, maybe yours, but def not theirs

People who make threads about what grinds my gears.

actually another thing that grinds my gears are topics that ask ppl to just shout off their answer to a question without reading whats going on
and if ppl actually do read whats going on and respond u end up with like 50 diff conversations going on at once. the topic is basically "start your own topic like X here, and most ppl will do that rather than respond to urs since its such a fucking mess." i've always tried to convince ppl of this but it hasn't caught on.
i think it would be better form for someone to make a topic about what grinds their gears and just leave it at that and leave shit like this to the census bureau. now if someone actually wants to collect data and then present it in a new topic that's different. but too often it ends up being a heap of shit so big no one man has ever seen it all.

People who net-bang, maphackers, girls who try to test your love then get all hissy when you fail, liars and hypocrites. That's about it, for now...
|
i actually kind of like map hacking. it gives me quicker access to the basic facts of the game, which takes much longer to piece together through the play/replay cycle.
|
I see. And a mineral hack would speed up the boring gathering minerals part so you can rush to the actual playing...
|
i don't think you understood my point. a mineral hack wouldn't help me learn anything.

When I can't find the droids I'm looking for.

Has a functioning "mineral hack" ever even existed? I've never, ever seen one or had anybody use one against me.
I always thought it was just something shitty players cried about back when they didn't realize you could build more than 10 workers and expand to mining locations beyond the one you started next to.

Eye of Thundera, give me sight beyond sight!

People who talk on their cellphones while driving, don't turn them off before classes/movies/funerals, or answer them while out on a date. I'm sure there are other instances in which cellphones piss me off, but I just can't think of any more right now because I'm BLINDED BY RAGE.
Added: People who bitch about a non-native speaker's use of English really grind my gears. They get my goat, too, and don't even get me started on my pet peeves...

that's my experience too
if they existed at all when i played they were really rare. there was the cancel bug in 1.01, but thats all.
anyone want to join me in making fun of this "grinds your gears" phrase? it sounds so cheesy. god, my gears are really grinded, i got to go and get greasing them.
anyways, roomates grind my gears. mine were playing fucking hockey in the living room at 3 am. they did this for like an hour.
i had some other roomates who stole all my toilet paper and ate like half my food and lied about it (so badly), would always come home late being relaly loud and would fill up the kitchen sink with dishes with food still stuck on them and fill up the dishwasher with thewse dishs when the sink was full and like, leave shit all over the counter and somehow get the floor dirtier in 1 day (all this shit every day!) than u would expect after 1 semester.
i guess what grinds my gears is that the official channels cant do shit to make these people act any differently and trying to retaliate would only lead to escalation. if people want to be irresponsible and burden everyone around them i guess you really can't do much unless you secretly catch them on camera or something.

Couple months ago I saw the Terran mineral hack on b.net twice. And last week saw the Zerg mineral hack three times. This was on b.net East btw.
