Which is true.

No, it's not even close to being true. Any hardworking person can make it in America, if you don't believe that then you're blind.

And that's one of the core differences between a Republican and a Democrat.

I don't think it's very political believing that hard work pays off.

Yeah, unless you live in half the states in the union.

Even the lefties here are admitting the moderator was biased and Biden was over aggressive with Ryan's time. But they are happy about it so they won't complain much.

No, it's an uninformed view to believe that hard work will magically overcome any and all boundaries in life. Most of the working-poor work way harder than you do. Of course, you're pretty solidly set in your opinion, so I don't see this going anywhere.

Dunno bout the moderator - but isn't the time difference between Biden-Ryan better than the time difference between Obama-Romney?

Someone else scored it here within a minute or something..

he was a bit of a dick, but apparently in US politics winning a debate is more important than fixing the problems.

I'll happily admit that's what it FELT like, but I'm pretty sure Biden's time minus Ryan's time was less than Obama's time minus Romney's time. Ryan didn't use his time wisely at all.

Yes, everyone gets a fair shot. People are free to make of their lives what they will. The issue is why some do and some don't. In my opinion, it all starts with the family.

Ryan also didn't fight for his time. He didn't fight for the last word.

Reminded me quite a bit of Obama's performance and was one of the biggest criticisms of his performance.

Debate #1: Romney wins by doing a complete 180 on everything he campaigned on during the primary (obvious exaggeration)

Debate #2: Biden wins by teaming up with the moderator to interrupt Ryan at every 5th word (another obvious exaggeration)

Here's the question:

Is it condescending if you appear to be right and convicted?

If yes, Biden probably slightly won or maybe Ryan win. If no, decisive win for Biden.

Then how is that a fair shot? Last time I checked, you don't get to choose what family you're born into.
