America's going to have a real problem if this idiot is elected President.

Honestly -- and I say this as a guy that thinks Romney is a horrible nominee -- there's worse shit that has come out of his and other politicians mouths. I chalk this one up to a having a brain fart during a hectic schedule. It happens.
It's his positions on issues that he has obviously thought through and meditated about -- the country club delusion that anyone who isn't stinking rich must be lazy or freeloaders, that the problem with America's foreign policy is that America's simply hasn't puffed it's chest enough -- is what should be disconcerting.

Where are the republicans in this thread. Have you given up? It so boring now.

I would have thought with the amount of time he spends in private jets, somebody would have told him about this stuff.

Hmm, how about: What republican positions do you agree with?

I agree with the Republican position on abortion. Well, I think I do at least. (banned except in cases of rape or threat to mother's health, right?)
Well in all fairness, presidential candidates have been known to say pretty stupid things occasionally. Though generally they weren't blatant errors in common sense.

You're one of the good ones xDaunt. I usually disagree, but at least you're rational.

Ummm. A few have been banned for spouting BS, as have quite a few leftists.
As far as I know xDaunt's posts are very good quality and nobody is stalking and reporting his posts, so he's a good guy I guess...
Nobody ever really gives up hope, ya know?

You are absolutely correct. It has everything to do with the fact that many of the liberal posters in this thread are remarkably intolerant and closed-minded. To their credit, some of the more reasonable liberal posters have called these unreasonable liberals out on it, but not often enough.

Hey for those of you interested in seeing where you stand on specific political issues, www.isidewith.com is a pretty neat tool to see who you agree with most! Most of the country agrees with Barack Obama, and shockingly, Gary Johnson second most, then Mitt Romney. I realized this when I started looking at how much support each of them got by State and noticed that Mitt Romney was below Barack Obama and Gary Johnson in almost every State.
I got: 88% Gary Johnson (Libertarian) 73% Mitt Romney (Republican) 56% Virgil Goode (Constitution) 30% Barack Obama (Democrat)
Cheers!

I also am more in line with republican position on abortion as well. They are more rigid in there view though, or at least that is the impression i got. They want it banned outright while i am more of the line of thinking that as you stated.
I dont see romney winning, he is lagging so hard in BG states right now. He is going to need a miracle at the debates if he has any hope of turning this thing around. As much as i dont like obama i am glad romney is not going to win. He is almost as bad as Palin

Didn't you know? The internet has a liberal bias.

Quite a few of the ultra conservative positions are almost impossibe to defend logically and since the extreme opinions are brought up so often, he is forced to steer clear to get to the more reasonable republican opinions on economy.

There's nothing to argue about until the debates. And even those will be boring.
We've basically exhausted everything. What's left? The space program? War on drugs? They're non-issues in this election year.

I'm not sure that it is fair to say that they are indefensible logically. It is very hard to call on creationism in schools from a logical standpoint. No abortion, no matter what, as Akin said is not unheard of on the fringe and even without the stupid comment, defending killing a girl because she cannot get an abortion is also hard to sell logically..
Edit: For clarity: Almost indefensible is a stretch, but it is hard to sell a lot of the far right reasoning without religious pitching.

Not believing in global warming when the vast majority of climatologists tell us otherwise is pretty as well.
