It's especially impressive because you were complaining about spinning too hard with regards to Biden yesterday.

No need to exaggerate beyond that.

Where am I exaggerating? I am saying that if a woman is faced with death, its from incest, or its from rape, she still should not have an abortion. All of that is cited. I don't think there is any need to exaggerate. As for planned parenthood, I think its safe to say that eliminating the funding for planned parenthood would at the very least severely cripple it and what it does. Planned parenthood is a good thing in the eyes of everyone except the far right.

The junk posted from Ultra Violet is basically trying to paint him as anti-women. That's an exaggeration.
As for Planned Parenthood I think its safe to say that federal funding could be redirected to other healthcare centers. Planned Parenthood isn't, by any remotely rational line of thinking, a necessary institution.

So you're saying that being against an abortion in the case of it saving the pregnant woman's life...Is not anti-women? Can you elaborate on how that's not ridiculous?

LOL I like how that cute little graphic says, "He'd outlaw X" then in the explanation it says, "It might outlaw x... we don't really know... maybe..."
Or, "Not subsidizing something is just like getting rid of it!"

So are you saying Ryan wants to redirect federal funding to other areas to support those in need of abortions, birth control, contraceptives, etc. for free? Because I'm pretty sure he doesn't. Whole point here is that he is anti-abortion and he's trying to eliminate support for an important institution that services tons of people with abortions etc.
btw federal funding makes up about 1/3 of Planned Parenthood's total funding. That's a significant amount, and no matter how you spin it, it would severely hamper the institution.

I'm not going to have an abortion debate with you. In Ryan's opinion the unborn child has just as much a right to life as the mother. So, if Ryan is anti-women then Obama anti-infant.
You have an opinion about abortion. Ryan has a different opinion.
There's nothing to debate or discuss beyond "my opinion is right and your opinion is wrong" so lets not.

Oh and on the topic of that ad, yeah, it's propaganda. Lots of details left out. I wouldn't take anything but 2 and 3 very seriously.

Ah, yes. Here's a perfect example of why feminism is basically dead.

You totally went off topic. He's talking about the cultural disparity in general. How does comparing rich Democrats with rich Republicans matter at all?
He's saying he hopes poor/middle-class people vote for Obama because the disparity is alarming and Romney will probably make it worse.
Or, well, that's what I hope he's trying to say. This was indeed the point I was trying to make. It has nothing to do with left/right issues. I think John Kerry ran into the same problem. Its much more about the cultural disparity than any real political issue.

Man, I'm so tired of hearing Romney talk. Over the last few days all he says is that Obama keeps attacking the Republican campaign. This is while he's doing nothing, but attacking Obama. I still haven't read anything insightful that he has said, nothing concrete how he would make America "better".

Yeah, a talking point has become the fact that Obama is being a bully to Romney. Good lord.

Fastest way to get rid of planned parenthood is just to freaking make "The Pill" over the counter.
Then it would be the same price as a pack of M&M's each month.
It's probably the most widely tested drug out there behind Aspirn and Caffine.

"Obama saying bad things about me! We need to heighten the level of our discourse"
*proceeds to bash Obama as a dictator willing to do anything to stay in power*

STD testing, morning after pill, other forms of contraception like IUDs, the patch, the "shot", the "arm implant", free condoms , pap smears, breast cancer screenings and cervical cancer screenings are two of their biggest things they provide, etc
They provide counseling on sex, gender, abortion etc.
I don't think that just giving pill over the counter will make them go away.
They offer inclusive services to everyone, including LGBTQ and they don't judge people.

I was planning on staying out of this particular thread, but I just wanted to pop in and complain about this ridiculous add that keeps playing on GOMTV as an advertisement for the VODs (I got the light subscription T_T).
He claims Obama got rid of work for welfare requirements and that he'll restore it. Only problem is, that's an outright lie.
Could we at least have advertisements that aren't outright falsifications?
As for the candidates, I can't stand either of them. I'll be voting for Obama though, because while I don't agree with all his policies, at least he's not a royal asshole. Romney makes me want to puke. Also, I want to see an end to the neo-liberal economic policies, and Romney just wants to re-instate those and make them worse.
