50 minute line wasn't that bad at all, overheard the precinct head tell a friend my polling place is up to around 40% turnout, which is pretty typical voting for where I am.

I'm taking my mind off of it with all of the entertainment that's been released in the past 24 hours: season finale of Red vs. Blue, Episode 3 of Takahata's Hellsing Abdriged, Halo 4.... Seriously, just don't sweat it, guys. ![]()

We are within 24 hours of the first voting precincts closing tomorrow. For the next day or two lets keep discussions about poll bias and voter fraud to a minimum. These amount to conspiracy theories until there is something of substance to back them up and you will be warned/banned accordingly if you bring them into this thread. - Effective as of page 1205 That note is pretty hard to see. Maybe if I quote you and post it you'll see it.

Well given that the top comment is a detailed explanation of what's happening in the video and how one can vote for obama, the most upvoted reply to that is a CNN reporter, I think it might be good to take a look at it. If there's substance behind it, CNN will run the story later in the day.

Right now this is an unsubstantiated claim that might only affect one machine so it's just paranoid nonsense that clogs up the thread. Edit: And it's not a detailed explanation. It explains what happens in the video. And a single reporter commenting on it asking questions also does not verify anything.

Even the interest of a CNN reporter is probably more telling of their news dredging strategy rather than this being an indication that the story is legitimate. In any case, this bit of information is a poor topic for discussion; we are inevitably led down a path of unanswerable questions, an endless source critique, and eventually conspiracy becomes unavoidable. Better to wait and see if any major news networks pick up the story.

I live in central pa and that's the same machine I used today. It worked fine for me, I'll go back when my brother goes to vote and see if it works again.

If you have the slightest inkling that your vote is being misrepresented, communicate that to an election judge. Period. At best, what we know is that there was a malfunctioning voting machine in a yet undetermined state. EDIT: State seems to be PA.

There were reports of this going the other way (Romney votes going for Obama) during early voting. Anyone that's used a touchscreen POS (point of service) at a job has probably seen the same thing happen. The touchscreen just has to be calibrated again. The machine I voted on today had a physical button but was still digital. It makes a lot more sense really to just avoid stuff like this. That video is very suspect, if that happened to me I would record a whole lot more than a 15sec video of the corner of the screen. As would any reasonable person.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't commenting on whether or not we should be using touchscreen balloting (I actually think bubble paper ballots are best) it's just that having to recalibrate touchscreens is part of touchscreen technology for everything. If something like this happens to you, go to a poll worker and they'll get it fixed and let you cast your ballot on another machine. It's just not, OMGVOTERSUPPRESSIONCONSPIRACY!!!!

I only quoted you because you we're talking about the touch screens.
