Not that it matters at all, though, since I live in Texas and my state is gonna go red anyway...I really, really hate the USA's voting system. If you're not in a swing state, your vote basically does not matter. I would much rather have popular vote decide who wins. We need to replace the electoral college with a 1 state = 1 vote system. Sadly the liberals would probably ragequit and not allow such an amendment to pass. as retarded as this is, it is basically correct. the president is not the president of the people, hes the leader of the states. IF the power of the president over the states was reduced, i could see the argument for making it more clear that states do the electing. the problem is the world has moved on in 200 years, the size and power of the US government is such that all this talk of states rights and whatever is irrelevent. the fact is the states need less power these days, in no other country do states act all independent all the time when they clearly arent. The argument that "America's government is too big, we should just allow it to remain big" has never stood well with me. The government is only as large as it is because we continue to just say "it's big, just accept it" but we need to seriously reduce the size and scope of this government and return rights to the states and to the people. State right #1: Slavery! and this time white people get to be slaves to the powerful rich

I don't think she understands how economics work. Denmark seems to be doing really well with their free healthcare and free education and I also hear those Europeans care very much about their enviroment. Why has their society not collapsed? And please tell me you are not an economics student. Europe is falling apart, though cradle to grave socialism is only a small part of the reason why. Either way, America's president does represent all Americans equally, as all federal laws and regulations affect all Americans equally. The Federal legislative, judicial, and executive powers cannot enact statutes that affect only one part of the country, which is by design of the constitution.

It's scary how much more sense how the 3rd party candidates make more points than jabbing insulting remarks at each other. The main presidential debates were such a show...

I don't think she understands how economics work. I know you're being rhetorical and I don't want to debate every item in the list, but there is no reason at all to think "waging a war on climate change" should be costly. Do Republicans not see the connection between science/technology and economics? There is perhaps nothing more important to our consumer-economy than having the next technological edge, in any and all fields, including climate change (i.e. alternative resources).
And that ties into education, which is another great investment for a government to make, economically and otherwise.

I did give a good one (which was conveniently left out of the requote) that I dont feel like retyping, so you can go back and read it

i am against this : < best person for the job shouldnt be excluded from the ballot. putting on term limits seems to treat the symptom not the cause.

I don't think she understands how economics work. then tell us by not taxing rich people and not building roads is a good idea? Rich people don't get taxed? We don't build roads? What? if your guy romney gets his way. like he paid 13% of his taxes but he could have given more millions to charity and had that rate in single digits. and if he lets the auto makers go bankrupt we won't need paved roads but it is great for our army on horses!

I'm not sure if I'm for term limits but I am definitely for extending the terms of Congressmen. Two years is way too short.

You're arguing against socialist tax, not against flat tax. In fact, your statement is an argument FOR flat tax.
