Yahoo, 1000 pages of politics!
A hip hip hurrah for all the contributors that have made this thread entertaining to read, and let's give a big thank you to the mods who have kept the thread from derailing(significantly).
I can't wait till November!

1,000 pages already? We have bickered quite a bit, my friends...

Please don't vote for Mitt Romney.
|
1000 pages of the same arguments over and over. A perfect thread for the topic.

...I guess even a nice centennial celebration can't keep anyone upbeat and nonpartisan?
|
Here's a question. I've voted in two other elections before this, but this is the first time I've paid close attention. I've been shocked by how much anger I feel, and its easy to see that lots of people involved in this are super pissed off.
Is the country more divided than it has been in the past, or is this par for the course for elections?
|
Par for the course, seemingly made worse because shit like Fox and MSNBC exist.
|
Given how nothing really changes I would imagine its par for the course.

According to some study, the country has never been so partisan since the Civil War.
Bodes well for our future imo.

Civil war would be cool. I could fight my boss.

Keep in mind this study was before Mitt rediscovered his so-called moderate roots. I feel like since Mitt has toned down, so have a lot of conservatives. Might just be me seeing things though.

Loving the thread also, best thread on this forum this year by far. Always loved to follow the usa elections, even way more so then anny election related to europe. Its nice in this thread to see the elections through the eyes of americans, its difficult to get a correct picture here about what occupies the american people.
What romney needs to do i think, is putting alot of women on tv who support him, this could maybe help him get more of their votes. Female republicans, preferably from different minorities talking about romney in a nice way and why they support him. Its just a weird thought wich struck me, if someone can pass it on to romneys campaign it would be apreciated.
And LOL, i just see gangnam style has made it to cnn international, who had an item about it.

sincerely, the world Thankfully, Americans have shown some stubbornness with complying with international opinion. Considering the state of the EU and others, even the enlightened democracies of Europe don't have perfect insight on how to govern. And lest we be very ethnocentric about the high Obama poll numbers abroad, Obama remains deeply unpopular in Mexico, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan and others. No thanks, pleading world. Romney in today's Rasmussen poll leads 50-46 (+-3) and Obama can only lay claim to 237/270 electoral votes (Romney 235/270), coming down to 7 states which are tossups. My guy's not doin too shabby in the nation that votes for American presidents. Our newspapers were plastered with the news of the death of our ambassador. That put at least Middle East foreign policy center-stage, that having been the only one killed in the last 30 years through two wars in the Middle East. But yeah yeah ignorant Americans blah blah blah. Romney's favorability ratings after accusing Ahmadinejad of genocide aren't going to be much better. Edit: Rasmussen is also the least accurate "big" pollster out there, no matter what election you look at.

I don't know why everyone hates on Rasmussen so much.

The 1000th page would be headlined by a flag lol

I'm wondering if Romney gets elected if it'll affect me personally in any way. A little curious.
