Not a fan of the branding or the big pockets. My go to chinos are the LEC straight fits (have them in khaki, lighter blue, purple, gray and stone). I get them during their sales and get them for $14.97 taxes in with free shipping. Great pants for a great price!

And Niso, the second one is my fav by far!

In that colour? I do like them a lot. The last ones I linked are very similar, just in a more "me" colour.

Also @zickoray, not that I am an expert, but you could possibly swap up those pants and get a nice pair of straight fit jeans, or maybe some skinny fit, depending on your build.

Hey, thread's too long. I'll keep it short. Please reply and teach me.

How do you style hair without mirror? I don't use gel, my hair goes out of shape. I want to just rub them around so they look cool, but I can't go around with a mirror all the time. How do you do it?

So far I have some general procedure of rub it flat to the right so I know what it WILL look like...

But THEN what do you do? I have some strange movements so it looks descently messy but I'm not really sure...

Why dont you just buy a mirror?

Or hair wax. I think I will make a tutorial on how to use hair wax, aka the best kept secret in men's hair styling.

Please enlighten us.

I use wax every day and I'm wondering where the secret is.. Maybe I can learn something useful.

I'd like to see that aswell. So far I've spoken with 3-4 other guys and we all use wax in totally different ways (1 or 2 types of wax, water v dry, wax "breathing" or straight from the container, combing or handstyling etc etc).

Really interested. I have a wax I really enjoy but it sometimes just doesn't feel/look right depending on the length of my hair and it really changes if I come straight from the shower with wet hair and such. I prefer 1wax, dry hair, straight from the container just using my hands. Did I get everything wrong ?

Any opinions on watches?

I'm looking for a good one for a business setting, just got accepted to the business college here at UofA and I want a nice watch I can start wearing to meetings and interviews. I definitely want a metal band, but I can't seem to find one with a face that really jumps out at me as a business watch.
There's a huge variety to choose from. Whats your budget? Someone mentioned the omega speed/seamaster. You cannot go wrong with Omega, the planet ocean is my personal favourite.

Consider a leather band though if you wear it on formal occasions, looks better under a suit. You can always switch bands of course.

I could go for anything between $100-$200 USD, but it better be nice for $200

Scrap the Omega, with that budget you'll most likely have to go with a quartz, and the range to choose from gets even bigger. Check out seiko they have some decent looking watches in that range.

I'd really recommend you save up for a while and pick up a nice mechanical watch though. It's just that much more nice/special and i'm positive you will not regret it. A mechanical doesn't have to be few thousand dollars like an omega. Check out Stowa or Steinhart for example, especially the aviators (fliegers), they look quite sexy and dressy. Reasonably priced as well.

Jus't don't be tempted to buy any fake high end watches! If the price is too good to be true, it most likely is.

Good luck!

@ Terloc: At that price range a seiko 5 is good choice. It is a nice looking mechanical watch. The movement is far from great, but it is <$100. I am partial to this one. Buy a nice brown leather band and swap it out puts you right around 100 dollars.

If you really don't care about the movement, there are thousands of quartz watches out there. The timex weekend is always popular. But there are tons. Look around and post a few that you like, and once I have an idea of what you like I can give you some more ideas. Just know if you get a quartz watch, watch snoobs will never look at you the same.

@ Niso: The second ones are the staple desert boot. Personally I like Macara color and the Cola color particularly if they are going to be your first pair. Those two colors are the most versatile and go with anything from jeans to chinos. Also I think those colors would look even better if you darken them up a little bit with some waterproofing. The khaki color will go well with a lot of things too. The last pair you linked while cool looking by themselves are something that would be hard to pull off with an outfit, and if you wore them frequently you'd become "that guy" with the crazy shoes. They'd be cool to add to an already large shoe collection, but I wouldn't buy them.

Bonobos is a great site for pants. They have a ton of styles, in a ton of really awesome colours. I really love colour, and pretty much always wear 1 piece of bright clothing (just kinda my thing). They also have all the classics and staples.

If you are looking for something cheaper, like I said, Land End and Land End Canvas are having a big sale right now, and straight fit chinos can be had for around $15.

Recently i have bought a couple of pair of naked and famous jeans.

http://www.nakedandfamousdenim.com

i really recommend them. I'm a bit of a denim-phile and the quality of the denim and wide range of rare denim that they are busting out is really impressing me. Check out the "weird guy" fit line, really cool selection of refreshingly creative jeans

i got the Frankenstein pair, really cool and original looking

http://www.nakedandfamousdenim.com/collection/men/weirdguy/frankenstein-denim.html

Also check out the elephant raw jeans, not for the faint of heart these are an absolute hardest jeans to break in but once you do its worth it, really intimidating ahah took me about 10 mounth the break these 22 oz beasts in.
http://www.nakedandfamousdenim.com/collection/men/skinnyguy/elephant-2.html

The ONI collaboration they did is really cool too, but you really have to see them up close to appreciate them.
http://www.nakedandfamousdenim.com/blog/oni-denim-collaboration/

There are also some off the wall pairs like a scratch and sniff raspberry scented pair http://hypebeast.com/2012/02/naked-famous-scratch-n-sniff-raspberry-scented-denim/ havent got me a pair of those yet but im looking :p
and my designated rave pair of jeans that glow in the dark http://hypebeast.com/2011/08/naked-famous-glow-in-the-dark-selvedge-denim/ you might think its gimmicky but they look really nice when not glowing aswel

Does anyone know of a website or company that has a wide verity of leather jackets, im looking for more biker inspired jackets such as this one http://tateandyoko.com/6-jackets/137-flat-head-40-s-riders-jacket.html but like without the soul crushing price tag? Im looking to spend $300-$400

Those jeans look good but I find their sizing to be pretty confusing. Why don't they just go with the standard(?) 30/30, 32/30, etc..

Probably some straight fit chinos then. They won't be too different from what you said you like to wear, they will just look smoother and will fit nicely.

That is a good point about how they won't suite much, although the original picture I saw with them, the guy had chinos on. I think I will go with the original deserts, just not sure what colour. Hopefully I am going down to the city soon to go try some on. Thanks for the help

Heres a picture I just took with me wearing plum coloured LE straight fits. You can do a lot more with pants that dont have funny pockets all over them. Much easier to pair with things, and to dress up or down.

I am also wearing my suede boatshoes I posted earlier to show you that they also work with pants, not just shorts

They come unhemmed, so you order by waist size only. There are some companies that will hem for free when you order from them. Blue owl I believe does this.

I generally rock http://www.afflictionclothingstore.com/ for my regular clothing (I love the Denim so much), I'm also a slave to MMA trends. That being said nothing beats Off 5th for clothing from companies like Hugo Boss and Burberry etc. When you wanna look like a boss and not pay the Mega expensive prices of whats considered most current.

yea N&Fs are my favorite out of the mid-tier denim category. they source their denim directly from japan unlike APCs, and I've never had a problem with their stitching. The only gripe I have with their jeans is the limited fit options (where are my skinny guys + low rise?!), but it's negligible because when I take it to a tailor I'd get it fixed anyway, albeit at a sum I'd rather not pay.

surprisingly I really liked the linen-denim mix.
http://www.nakedandfamousdenim.com/collection/men/slimguy/linen-blend-denim.html
they kinda fit/look like slacks but have a denim-y quality to them, it's a really weird feeling but in a good, unexpected way.

I'm interested in seeing your fades for the elephants because a friend and I were joking anything >20oz would literally stand up by themselves. It'd be akin to wearing a cardboard box

Perhaps you can go for the Seiko Monster. Not trying to be a snob or anything but if you're trying to impress people you're gonna need to save up way more that that. Another route you can take, is the vintage watch route. Check out some of the old King Seiko's or Seiko Crown's and you may be able to find a few gems online.
