I just tried using chicken broth instead of using the soup powder that comes with the noodle.
I customized the spice level with Korean pepper paste.

It was the most amazing thing I've ever tasted.

If you want chicken ramen this is the way. Flavour packets are garbage compared to stock.

Yeah, I used to save up Shin Ramyun spicy packets and whenever I had any kind other kind of Ramen I'd apply a little for some kick with that broth.

I've done this for a long time. Since I was a kid, If I just wanted something quick I would just open one end of the package, take out the seasoning, pour it in, clamp the opened end with my hand and crush all the noodles into bite sized pieces. Shake the bag, and you have an evenly coated raw noodle ^^; . I wouldnt dare do it with shin ramyun (It's far too good for that), but if there was the cheap Mr. Noodles in the house I've done it a few times a year.

Just had Shin Ramyun for the first time after reading up on it in here. Went to my korean place( The Seoul Mart) picked up some of the Shin Ramyuni(red packet) and also got some green onions. Made it up as people have described, and actually ate it twice today! First time without egg, then the second time with egg. It was actually fucking amazing. I was nervous about putting the whole sauce packet in because I saw others in here who have said they love spice but it was too hot for them. I put the whole packet in anyway and was pleasantly surprised... I expected it to be a bit hotter, but it had a great balance between heat and flavor.

Definetly just found my new favorite lazy food. Thnx TL ramen thread!

ramen is amazing. I have numerous recipes lol. Sometimes I just eat it normal. But a lot of times I either put ranch/cut up grilled chick. Sometimes hot sauce, sometime bbq sauce with chicken/meat. But my favorite, is ranch,chicken, with garlic and onion powder. SHIT IS DANK!

Nong Shim udon is just fantastic. Too bad it's so fucking expensive.
I wish that veggie packets didn't have that goofy lettuce/cabbage shit, or I'd actually use them. Carrots/peas/corn only pls.

I always break off a little bit of the block to eat dry while I wait for my ramen to boil :3

I don't put the flavoring in the cooking pot, I just put it in the bowl.

I cook fresh water separately.

After the ramen is boiled, I flush it with cold water very quickly.

Then put it into the bowl and then add the boiled water.

This way, the ramen has a more chewy texture to it.

I wonder what ramen tastes like if you strain it after cooking and saute it in a pan. Has anybody tried this? I'll try it soon and tell you guys how it goes.

1. fill pot with cold water, put noodles in right away (fuck waiting for it to boil first usually I forget I even made it lol)
2. boil that shiiiii
3. add sauce packets, egg
4. let stand, munch
