For the person who eats a pack of those noodles every day, fix your diet. You're going to be getting waaay to much sodium in your diet. I also enjoy ramen, but you gotta treat like you would chocolate or soft drink. Something for every now and then, but not every day. Kinda goes without saying. I think of it more like a bag of Doritos or crisps - not so much food as it is just a salty, starchy snack. You could put an egg and onion on a bowl of crisps too, but at the end of the day it's not exactly dinner. For the salt, it really depends on the person. If you're overweight and your blood pressure is high, then yeah, instant ramen is like begging the gods for pain. If you've got low blood pressure, though, then you almost need a certain amount of salt every day. Not that a pack of ramen isn't excessive, but it's not SO excessive if you're not getting a lot of salt from anything else in the rest of your day. I still wouldn't eat it as dinner every day, mind.

heat some oil. add dry chili, chopped garlic, chopped ginger, star anise, sichuan pepper whatever i feel like and fry in the oil till desired brown color. the spices i remove but garlic ginger I leave it cuz it tastes good. sometimes I add some satay or XO sauce or black bean chili sauce... sometimes curry paste that I have. fry in the oil to bring out flavor but don't burn. (duh) then add whatever i have like minced beef/pork or some chopped up chicken and veggies like carrot slices, brocoli bits, cauliflower bits, cabbage, onion whatever really and fry that up. fry all that shit to around half done and add boiled water. add noodles and powder. depending on how much sodium I already added I change how much packet I use. but normally the whole pack goes in LOL cuz MSG IS THE CRACK COCAINE OF THE CULINARY WORLD. then I let it boil up and crack an egg into the mixture and pour into a large bowl immediately. the leftover heat is plenty to cook the egg. eat that shit. another recipe which is awesome I found when I was doing egg fritatas and just adding whatever the fuck I had and this came to mind. normally i do them with bacon tomato potato onion etc but you can actually make a ramen fritata pretty easily. soak ramen in hot water till soft. drain water and crack in some eggs and add powder. mix well. heat up a pan with a little oil in it over medium/high heat. pour mixture in and spread out. now you can add stuff to the top like spinach leaves, chopped parsley, cilantro, chili, bacon whatever. get some of the leftover egg mixture from the bowl and dap it around the toppings you added so they don't fall off and stick to it. cover with a lid to cook through the middle of the fritata. flip when the bottom is nice and browned and cook other side. another one is what my mom used to make for me when I got sick and didnt feel like eating anything. soak noodles in hot water. drain as well as you can. a little oil in a pan on medium heat. pour noodles into pan and spread out. let it fry on medium heat slowly. dont touch it or else it will get fucked up, you gotta wait till the noodles are fried nice and crispy and not stuck to the pan, then you can flip it. get some beef/pork/chicken watever and slice thinly into strips. marinade with whatever like salt/pepper/soy sauce/ginger/garlic etc. add a little oil so they dont stick. fry in a pan over high heat and add whatever other vegetables thinly sliced. when almost done, mix a little water with corn starch and add to the mixture. it will boil to a nice thick sauce. taste off with soy/salt and serve with fried cruncy ramen. THE SHIZZNIT.

Not really - I often don't drink the broth and just eat the noodles, but I am far too lazy to use a strainer for that. I guess i'm just concerned about high blood pressure (both my parents have HBP), and considering a large amount of the sodium comes from the broth, i avoid it. Fuck, i need to start eating ramen again D:.

I added some leftover takeout panang beef curry I had from the other night, last I made ramen. Was pretty amazing. There's wasn't much in the way of actual sauce, just whatever thick sauce was coated on the meat. I put it in right as I put the noodles in, and let it cook. Not only did the bit of sauce add to some of the flavor, but the meat itself was so tender. Was really damn good ramen.

Yeah man, that's army style right there. (no joke)

Ichiran ramen is at least 25.973x better than instant ramen. It's a really cool experience as well since you pretty much eat isolated. It's like the pinnacle of Japanese efficiency in a chain restaurant with some of best ramen in Japan.
