Don't forget all the times mods have said it was an obvious tongue-in-cheek joke in this thread ~_~

I'm not the type who would purposelfully harm others in the way of "if I can't have it no one can" or being antiestablishment for the sake of it, "why should I unblock TL I'm such a badass who doesn't give a shit" why would anyone chose to not help when I takes little to no effort, it's just selfish. I could care less where the ad revenue goes, why is everyone so worked up about how TL maximises profits? It's not like you're paying them... I don't give a fuck if I look at ads, they're there for a reason: To support the site that is displaying them. And if I'm browsing the site, or video, that means I want to support the place I'm visiting since it interests me. I'd totally turn it off just for TL if I knew how. :/ In the meantime, I at least ordered HotS and D3 through you guys. :D (and would totally get a jersey, too, if they were ever available >.<) It's over used, but knowledge is power. And enabling the Ads or not doesn't support e-sports. Pro gamers get money from contracts and tournament winnings. It's not like the profits go towards other teams and such. That just tells your computer to redirect to your own computer.I have the Ads block by my hosts file, so sadly I cant do anything, or can I? Adblock would block things based on site ( Host file is also for everything on your computer ) No Script ( blocks scripts, some advertisements are blocked but not purposely done in this way, just the way those ads work )

And my favorite is excepting TL but keeping adblock on for stream pages. Way to screw the players, the ones who need the revenue the most, out of your ad view.

It's a horrible affliction that has stymied modern medicine. It's called 'rational egoism'. Symptoms include becoming pretentious and irritating, losing all your friends, and becoming 'that guy'. Don't be that guy. Please take precautions to avoid becoming one of the sad and lonely group of people each year who are stricken with this plague. Be nice to your fellow man. Go out of your way to help others in need. Enjoy life. If you, or someone you know is suffering from rational egoism please contact your local homeless shelter, soup kitchen, food pantry, religious denomination, or any miscellaneous charity. Please, friends don't friends become rational egoists. I think the teachable moment applies to one as much as the other... I personally don't adblock TL, but I wouldn't fault anyone who does.

Go to the site you want to whitelist, left-click the Adblock icon in the upper-right (should be red with a hand), and select "Don't run on pages on this domain".

Nazul claims that this site is not-for-profit, but frankly I think the recent practice of aggressive ad campaigns by TL suggests otherwise: is TL losing so much money per month that it can no longer sustain itself? No. Despite the recent influx of visitors, I don't ever see this ever being brought up. Instead, the elephant is just a sad excuse to maximize profit. Aggressive add campaigns = One additional banner on the right side of the page? ok... Think about all the costs associated with running a pro sc2 team. They have to pay their players' salaries, fly them all over the world, housing, etc. Not to mention try to scrape up enough to not get their players bought out (HuK.) Now, I'm sure their sponsors Razer and The Little App Factory help, but my guess is that the some of the revenue created by the site also goes into running the team. I just don't see what this "maximizing profit" you're talking about refers to. Hot_Bid and R1CH do this as their full time job so yeah, they need something to live on, but the money TL makes is going back into esports. If TL was money hungry they could add a donate button or something(people have posted wanting to donate, but mods declined.)

If that still doesn't work, PM me, lets not derail this thread anymore than the Internet philosophers already have. Edit: I didn't actually even have to restart Chrome when I tried it myself.

It has a video ad that can't be muted on the side, and for weeks they had this stupid Justin Bieber movie. They still have it -_-. So I got adblock. I spent a whole night writing an essay for IB listening to that !@#$. But, don't worry. I love ESports.
