Yea, i don't know what i find more upsetting, That people would just walk by, or that people would upload it to youtube.

Definitely the former but not by that much...

I doubt people uploaded it for entertainment. It is probably there to point out that shit like this is a problem.

How is it better to kill the baby if you're sitting in jail for vehicular homicide?

I would rather be poor than get butt raped every night

Well, apparently some people would rather have money, be "butt raped" a few times, and then live their life . The details are all in the video description btw, I'm paraphrasing one of the drivers who were caught:

Show nested quote +
Chinese authorities have supposedly have caught the first driver (the second is no worse in my opinion). "If she is dead, I may pay only about 20,000 yuan ($3,125). But if she is injured, it may cost me hundreds of thousands yuan," said the driver over the phone to the media, before he gave himself up to the police.

Also would be curious what the "bystander effect" (a term used in social psychology) has to play in this. Could it happen anywhere else? Has it? meh...maybe I'll research it later

the bystander effect comes from a case like this....

are you serious? you 'want' to kill people and you're condemning people who are just allowing death. how are you any better than these people?

sad.

korea had its time where traffic laws were ignored (when i was there), a lot has changed now.

i hope china and all other developing countries can understand the seriousness of automotive traffic and humanitarian views.

some of them traffic accident videos in china is fucking mindblowing, i really wanted to bitch slap every single one of those drivers.

It's sad how much of this 'discussion' is nation based hate. It's also funny how much human beings try to feel superior to others based on the location of their birth/ideologies they were taught/skin color etc. etc.

No, because I don't know of a single country whose laws regarding an intentional act calculated to result in the death of another human being is not some form of homicide.

Okay, you don't want to get involved, potentially cause more harm than good and risk getting in trouble because you intervened too much. I get that.

But, at least fucking call an ambulance for the person. Good lord.

Meh, its cruel but people are scared. There are many cases where people got sued for being good sumaritan. I remember recently reading about a man saw an old woman fell and went to help her and bring her to the hospital. Then the woman told the police that the man pushed her down. He had to pay lots of fines.

what is in jeopardy?

i help someone then *chance* of getting sued? i think there might be a higher chance of getting thanked instead of being sued. if there's a sure chance i can help someone, i would do so and not let it be decided on the chance of a backlash. and if this shit is that screwed up, government/law/system is at fault for allowing such thing to happen. i surely wouldn't let that be a factor when a kid is about to get run over.

scams are a different story and it exists everywhere regardless of where/when/what/who.

Wow. I want to cry. That's fucking horrible. The second one where the car ran over her legs made me stop for a bit.

People need to take action more often. We live in a society where minding your own business is encouraged and letting the "proper authorities" handle things is often the better idea. It's not. Go help people when they need it, regardless of whether it's your business or not.

So sad right now T_T

Wow this is such a difficult topic. Iirc, my country has a law which states that if we witness an accident and are able to help, we are liable to assist the victim. Of course, there are some exceptions (I don't think we're forced to perform CPR) but still...

But is it really okay to have a law saying that you must help?
