We are extremely close to shutting down this thread for the same reasons the PUA thread was shut down. While some of the time this thread contains actual discussion with people asking help and people giving nice advice, it often gets derailed by rubbish that should not be here. The moderation team will be trying to steer this thread in a different direction from now on. Posts of the following nature are banned: 1) ANYTHING regarding PUA. If your post contains the words 'alpha' or 'beta' or anything of that sort please don't hit post. 2) Stupid brags. You can tell us about your nice success stories with someone, but posts such as 'lol 50 Tinder matches' are a no-no. 3) Any misogynistic bullshit, including discussion about rape culture. 4) One night stands and random sex. These are basically brags that invariably devolve into gender role discussions and misogynistic comments. Last chance, guys. This thread is for dating advice and sharing dating stories. While gender roles, sociocultural norms, and our biological imperative to reproduce are all tangentially related, these subjects are not the main purpose of the thread. Please AVOID these discussions. If you want to discuss them at length, go to PMs or start a blog. If you disagree with someone's ideologies, state that you disagree with them and why they won't work from a dating standpoint and move on. We will not tolerate any lengthy derailments that aren't directly about dating.

Do you now know, or have you ever known anyone who was "desperate"? Would they have been a good lay in that state? to the first question: i can not know. to the second: i can conceive of a situation where a person i would consider desperate would be a good lay in said situation, as there might be a certain kick to the inequality in power.

@ puerk You didn't define what it means to be "desperate." I'm starting to wonder whether you even believe in "desperate." Maybe you are like the atheist who says whether or not certain people are holy.

1.) She now knows the age difference, and she said it doesn't matter to her, "maturity matters." 2.) She's not looking for sex so much as she is a relationship. 3.) She's got her life very well put together. She's got a solid job as a realtor, is about to graduate college, does triathalons and stuff like that. Pretty impressive really.

So you are going on a date with a girl on a relationship that doesn't want sex? ![]()

I basically never ask out girls because I only like supermodels with a PhD in physics. What can I do?

And "PhD in physics" as another word for "above average intelligence". I do have a PhD but not in physics and I do have better looks than most. This makes it ridiculously hard to find a fitting mate for me.

Even if you say above average means 1 full standard deviation above average and that there's no correlation between intelligence and attractiveness, that still leaves you with 2.5% of the female population. Of course, that assumes random selection. If you go somewhere like a college you want to find a much higher percentage of both. My question is then how many of these attractive girls are you actually talking to?

It's more like the top 2% in both intelligence and beauty. 2% x 2% = 0.04% That means out of 2500 girls, one would be a potential match.

Honestly if you are around girls frequently in your social circles I can't believe that there are no girls that are at least somewhat attractive to you. It's okay to have standards but to me it sounds more like you make up excuses for not being emotionally open towards the girls that are in front of you.
