In New York, where dozens are typically arrested in periodic marches since the movement began, police hauled sit-in protesters to their feet, handcuffing them and setting up metal barricades. Source"You do not have a parade permit! You are blocking the street!" a police officer told protesters through a bullhorn. The congestion brought taxis and delivery trucks to a halt. Police were allowing Wall Street workers through the barricades, but only after checking their IDs. The protest did not delay the opening of the New York Stock Exchange or disrupt business, said Rich Adamonis, a spokesman for the exchange. The protest marked two months since the Occupy Wall Street Movement sprang to life on Sept. 17 with a failed attempt to pitch a protest camp in front of the New York Stock Exchange. After police kept them out of Wall Street, the protesters pitched a camp in nearby Zuccotti Park, across from the World Trade Center site. On Tuesday police raided Zuccotti Park and cleared out dozens of tents, tarps and sleeping bags. "This is a critical moment for the movement given what happened the other night," Paul Knick, 44, a software engineer from Montclair, N.J., said as he marched through the financial district with other protesters on Thursday. "It seems like there's a concerted effort to stop the movement and I'm here to make sure that doesn't happen." The confrontations in New York followed early-morning arrests in other cities. It seems like the confrontations will be getting more severe if none of the sides will back down some. Edit: Another more broad collection of happenings Source

CRM OWS Moral High Ground YES Maybe Goals YES ? Leaders YES ? Solutions YES ? Iphone/Starbucks No Yes The point is you're nit picking making the protest more important then the message and if you can't find the message it means you're not listening there are tons of messages the one underlying one is ill gotten gains. People who help run the econ into the ground have influence on the government and they were not tried under RICO even though there were clear criminal activities occurring further more we made the risk public without anything asking in return, so why don't you go read though the thread and compile the goals and solutions. You're nit picking at things to belittle things, you're not actually arguing on the message you're looking at the people and saying nope they don't hold any valid points. As you can do that with anything find one or two things that are questionable.

It was insane, one of the protesters was kicking the barricades. 5 cops jumped over, he ran and they tackled him, hitting his head on the pavement. They beat him, dragged off his pants and shoes, and then hauled him away. Since the crowd was so thick the cops on the other side thought there was mass violence; about 30 of them jumped over the barricade, some slipping and falling on the wet ground to much hilarity, rushing towards the crowd. A lot of people I talked to were hit in the face or jabbed with batons randomly as they were trying to exit the crowd. The police then barricaded everyone inside the park and let no one enter or exit.

You know, if you don't like the Bank, don't bank with them. Bank of America dropped it's debit card fee after many people left them, so that made them listen. Just don't try and block people from using them if they want to.

This is no longer a protest if they block service from people who want to use it. Actually it is. There are many different kinds of protesting - the one where you can easily get ignored is probably the worst kind. These people aren't going to just sit there forever if there is no progress being made. They will either change their methods now or disperse and reform in a year or two when the situation is even worse. Either way, the way it's going, this can only escalate and is not something that will just vanish into thin air.

I'm not surprised, but this sort of behavior is just going to erode support. Preventing people from driving down a street, or patronizing their bank, or from leaving a convention center, or from getting into their place of work are all things that simply continue to paint the OWS movement in a bad light.
